They are not able to keep their grades high enough to even receive a degree. As stated earlier there are many factors that contribute to a student’s success in college. One of the reasons why students fail college is due to the fact that many teenagers are simply not ready for the rigorous schedule that comes with being a college student. The Responsibility Project

...has focused on serious ethical lapses in every type of organization. As workers, it is important that we care about ethics as most of us work for ethical organizations. Most important, we as individuals must care about ethics, regardless of what kind of job we hold. It is important that we feel good about ourselves and the work we do. Organizations must care about ethics because workers depend on them to help define the boundaries of acceptable and unacceptable behavior. Organizations may be interested in being ethical in order to avoid criminal liability or bad reputation, or they may be interested in being ethical because the human beings who run them believe it’s the right thing to do and want to be part of a fair and just environment. Ethical lapses can cost an organization dearly in shattered customer confidence, increased government regulation, and huge fines. The government intervention with Obama lowering rates of federal loans back in August 2013, but I wish for more financial assistance availability. My personal opinion is that financial assistance for higher education should be a more important base topic in today’s world. There are more and more cut back on college funds each year, and to make matters worse the real cost of college has risen steadily since the 1940s. Government aides and Pell grants have been reduced significantly; and obtaining free grants has become harder. Schools have raised tuition; which drops down the students enrolling in school due to loan affordability or not enough aids available. Over the past years, access to higher education has expanded from being privileged at birth, to having a certain qualification. ...Educational return on Investment Many high school graduates as well as adults in the workforce today have many decisions to make about the need to continue their education. Since the unemployment rate for both educated as well as uneducated personnel has realized little decline, students struggle to find a balance between the value of continuing education and the cost associated with it. There are two conflicting arguments concerning educational return on investment; both sides over the presence or absence of a bachelor’s degree sides offer valid claims. It can be argued that a person’s success is not determined by merely obtaining a bachelor’s degree. A person will have to determine the definition of success as it relates to them. Some of the attributes that contribute to success are personal such as drive, determination, and creativity. There are many successful entrepreneurs who did not have a bachelor’s degree. Andrew Carnegie, famous industrialist and philanthropist, known for the Carnegie Institute of Technology and building 300 public libraries was a high school dropout. Coco Chanel, founder of the brand Chanel and Chanel No. 5 perfume does not have a college degree. Andrew Jackson became President of the United States at age 35 without a formal education.
