...Work is a great place for guest service but for some reason we have been failing at our secret shops. So the first question is: What happen to guest service? I think it is because of how lazy people are getting. I know sometimes we are really busy and we can only point them in to the direction of where that products at but when where not busy and all you are doing is stocking or cleaning you should walk the guest to where they need to be or if you don’t know to that department and then get another team member that could help. For example on 8/26 I was helping a guest with chair feet. Me thinking they were in cab apps but by asking Gail. She then pointed me to hardware. She didn’t know the exact aisle so I called Mike and had him take me and the guest to the chair feet. I think this is a good representation of good guest service but not the best since I had to go to two people but I still found the product the guest was looking for. The guest left happy with the merchandise. Guest service means to me the ability to help the guest for what they need. To get them everything they need for their project o they don’t have to come back. Why I come to work. For one I enjoy it. Whilst the planning for assessment has been a central factor considerable considerations have been given to the syllabus and course outcomes, combined, these present an overview for what should be learned by the end of the course. I adopted a modular approach to the planning as this was important in processing the scheme of work and allowed for detailed planning. I deliberated over what the student cohort may already know and understand at this level but ideally I would have the opportunity to explore this somewhat further through interview or initial assessment. This would help establish any specific learner needs and additional resources that may need to be made available to students. I have considered the time available to conduct lessons based on the scheme of work and discovered that there are certain practicalities that need to be overcome in order to present the lesson. We all got along together well and exchanged phone numbers to communicate about the tutorial presentation. Part of the challenge to the presentation was the different dynamics and personalities within the group.
