My Work Experience

In my history of work they have had a positive and a negative impact in my life. I have worked for Department of Juvenile Justice I was also a customer care associate for a call center and I am currently a school bus driver. Every job I have held I’ve always learned a new skill to enhance my life. All of these jobs have their own unique differences that make each of them special. As a juvenile detention officer I had good and bad experiences. One of the good experiences was being able to help out a juvenile that was going through a rough time in their life. It was rewarding to see a juvenile smile by giving them a phone call or extra food. As a juvenile detention officer there was times when the offenders wouldn’t behave and fight with each other or the staff. I have seen broken bones to a shattered eye socket and lots of blood.

Working at a call center is a challenging job, you have to meet quotas and talk to certain amount of people on a daily basis. In the call center you must be able to multitask in addition to working with all kinds of different people. But working in a call center you must be able to sit for long periods of time and you must be able to understand people’s problems and why they called. Some people will not be too polite, some will use offensive language others will not want to speak with you at all and request a supervisor.

Some people think that driving a school bus is just driving it’s not. Being a school bus driver you get to listen to the kids you’re driving to school. I enjoy engaging with them and hearing there different stories. I am more like a friend than a school bus driver to some of my students. The down side of driving a school bus is that you’re paying attention to traffic and the students at the same time. There could be a fight on the school bus while you’re operating it

As a result of technology I am able to work from home a few days out of the week because of remote access. Remote access allows me to use my personal computer and connect into my workstation in the office as if I were seating right there in the office.
