The final assignment is the post-placement report which talks about my work experience with the Langham, Melbourne. It just felt like yesterday I had started working for the hotel, but now it's finally time of letting go off the property, leaving behind the Langham family and long-lasting memories. These six months have been an incredible journey for me, especially working in the F&B department as I have also got the chance to work in the other areas apart from banquets, with many things to learn from each establishment. This paper will elaborate about my experience on placement, my skills and knowledge development and the way it has changed my thought process with the important values gained from this experience.

The banquet is the most challenging departments in the F&B sector, which takes years of knowledge and experience as everyday there is something new to learn. When I first started working, I initially struggled with myself and thus, received a lot of scolding from my manager and supervisors, but with each passing day I became familiar with the operations and substantially improved on my work performance. The staff has always been very supportive, and whenever in doubt, I have always got my problems clarified from my supervisors, not only boosting my self-confidence but also enthusiastically participating more in the workplace. Thus, I have a close relationship with my team and able to perform myself under pressure without much difficulty.

It is also essential that banquet attendants exhibit good communication skills, minimizing errors and display professional ethics all times to maintain the standards of the hotel. I have personally witnessed where miscommunication can delay service, giving rise to customer complaints which has had a very big impact on the department.
