... Professor Crosson ENG 215 March 6, 2013 Advances in natural energy have provided ways to create the energy that we need with little to no pollution. The United States of America however, is very slow with getting on board with the rest of the countries across the world who has embraced the methods of using natural energy. China and Russia have begun to fuel most of their energy using solar power and water, yet the United States continues to stick to the older ways of coal, oil and nuclear plants to power our part of the world. There have been studies and research done on how the toxic pollution from these dirty forms of energy is causing major damage to the environment. There are even more problems with the people who have to live near these energy plants or breathe in the harmful air which can cause heart problems, cancer and sometimes even death. America has always been the master cranium when it came to making innovative ideas that the world would soon follow. Now, it may be time for America to learn a few facts from other countries on how to incorporate a better way to power up this nation. What are we waiting on, this is America. Natural Power is an independent renewable energy that uses the power from the sun, wind, water or anything in nature to produce power and energy. The research to begin using this natural form of energy was...

...MGMT 501 Paper Assignment Topic The paper should focus on a specific behavioral sciences issue related to the topics covered in the course. The course and textbook present an array of topics from which to choose. For example, topics that fall within the domain of motivation, leadership, group dynamics, organizational culture, and job satisfaction, to name a few, are important, broad areas that have been the subject of much research and discussion in the study of behavior in organizations. When working with such broad topic areas, it is important to narrow the focus of the paper to a specific model or approach. Topics such as the labor market for IT workers, changing demographics in the workforce, or the prevalence of downsizing in the U.S., while interesting, do not necessarily qualify as course-related organizational behavior topics. However, organizational commitment of downsized employees, or motivational strategies for the management of generation Xers, etc., may well be appropriate topics for this course paper. Students may work with a partner (or even a small interest group), and this partnership entails sharing a general topic area and several research references. However, each student should determine his or her own perspective on the topic. For example, one student in a pair can take one position on a paper, while the other adopts an opposing stance (i.e., point-counterpoint). Or one student can research one component of a larger topic, while the other...

...Assignment 2: Analyzing World Cultures I viewed a Japanese made anime/cartoon film called "Tekken" it was an anime video from Japan. I need another Japanese made (genuine human performing actors/actresses) motion picture called "009-1". It was somewhat similar to a "Kill Bill" sort of motion picture, aside from in Japanese and considerably more violent occasions and significantly all the more battling, that was intense rather than funny. There was a ton of sexual expression in the film that I saw. A great deal more exotic than how American motion pictures are made. I have seen a great deal of significance of family in their way of life taking into account look into and taking into account the motion pictures that I observe today. It appears their way of life their kin are exceptionally centered on where individuals originate from. In both of the motion pictures I saw individuals are exceptionally worried with their folks and their family and general and discovering them and knowing where they originated from and being a part of a family. They are extremely unstable about being called awful names by other individuals or took a gander at as terrible people. I saw that the men in the motion pictures , particularly them two the toon motion picture and the human performing artists motion picture them two indicated men were furious and now and again look down on ladies as "powerless" physically. I saw that the ladies had exceptionally solid parts to demonstrate that...

...Differences in World Culture Closely Related to Global Business Operation 梁宇轩 20130250016 Now the world is increasingly globalized and the world seems to become smaller since the vehicle become more and more advanced. It is very easy for a person to travel and do business all over the world. But the advanced vehicle could not speed up people to know others abroad because of the cultural difference. While doing business in a foreign country, sometimes it is very important for the businessman to realize the cultural of the country. Even nowadays there exist some countries have a institution that its politics are closely connect with its religions such as the Islamic areas. There exist a lot of taboos in Islamic countries and maybe something usual in our normal days is evil in those countries. That means if someone wants to do business in the Islamic areas and he needs to know the country’s religion and cultural otherwise he may lose his money or even break the law. For example, the financial industry is very different in Islamic areas. In the ancient time, Prophet Muhammad observed the usury behavior harmed his people as a witness. And he thought that these behavior will make the society injustice and intensify the contradiction. So he made the regulation that no one will be allowed to get interest from lending money to others. Even in the Quran charging interest is not allowed. There is no doubt that this regulation can not adjust the world’s convention. The interest...

...Phase 1Individual Project Elaine Thornton Colorado Technical University HUMN250-1303B-11 World Values and Cultures Professor Bunch August 26, 2013 Culture is one of the most important and basic concepts of sociology. In sociology culture has a specific meaning. The anthropologists believe that the behaviour which is meant is called culture. In other words the behaviour which is transmitted to us by someone is called culture. The ways of living, eating, wearing, singing, dancing and talking are all parts of a culture. In common parlance, the word culture, is understood to mean beautiful, refined or interesting. In sociology we use the word culture to denote acquired behaviour which are shared by and transmitted among the members of the society. In other words, culture is a system of learned behaviour shared by and transmitted among the members of a group. Human behavior is affected both by genetic inheritance and by experience. The ways in which people develop are shaped by social experience and circumstances within the context of their inherited genetic potential. The scientific question is just how experience and hereditary potential interact in producing human behavior. Each person is born into a social and cultural setting—family, community, social class, language, religion—and eventually develops many social connections. The characteristics of a child's social setting affect how he or she learns to think and behave, by means of instruction, rewards and punishment...

...protocols. Protocols are a format that transmits data between devices. Standards are agreed upon beforehand. For instance, internet protocol version four (IPV4) allows computers to communicate over the internet. (McQuerry, 2008). WAN, LANs, MANs LAN, wide area network (WAN), and metropolitan area network (MAN) are typical types of networks used. LAN is a network that connects computers in small building, offices, and single family homes with network media. LAN can transmit data quickly over limited distances. A WAN, on the other hand, is comprised of multiple LANs connected over multiple geographic locations. While I was stationed in the United States Navy, the Department of Defense used WAN to communicate with Sailors around the world. The network was connected together regardless where is was physically located. The network which connects an office in...

Tutankhamen was a pharaoh who produced little in his life and he did not increase Egypt’s borders or enjoy triumphant victories like the many pharaohs before him. However, he is the most recognized and probably the most famous pharaoh in the history of Egypt. He is so famous, because of the discovery of his tomb and his elaborate treasure. “Tutankhamen, named Tutankhamen early his life, was the 12th pharaoh of the eighteen dynasty of Egypt. He ruled from 1334-1323BC and lived ca. 1334-1323 BC, during the period knows as the new kingdom.” (www.crystalinks.com) His original name, Tutankhamen, meant “living image of Aten” while Tutankhamen meant “living image of Amum”. ...I wrote this essay because of my recent experience at the Boca Museum of Art. One typically ponders what to do in preparation for the weekend or during idle time if it hasn't already been allocated. With the aforementioned dilemma in perspective, I surprisingly found myself (approximately four weeks ago) at the Boca Museum of Art in Boca Raton, Florida. Interestingly enough, the essence of art in its' entirety is an extreme mental release for me. While walking slowing through the munificence of the beauty and abstract designs by various artists, I was enthralled by several pieces, so much so I recorded the artists names and titles of their works; those that left a stamp of memorable collection in my brains vortex of impressionism anyway. With that in mind, this essay will dissect my experience in written form, while simultaneously creating visual imagery to the reader. While engaged in the enchantment that played on my euphoric senses at the Boca Museum of Art, I was visually captured by several pieces of artistic form. First, I noticed a piece by Paolo Nicola Rossini, the image was still life 14 vortex which depicted a varied influx of light and time. My interpretation of the piece was the artist attempt to convey time travel through a flat surface 3d dynamic; interestingly enough, her artwork could be interpreted as dual by way entrapment to the mind's mental interpretation. For example, while my interpretation of her expression is time travel, one may conclude it is nothing...

...Influence of Chinese Culture on World Markets China has one of the largest populations in the world, it stands to reason cultural beliefs and trends would hold sway with many of the major manufacturers who sell internationally. Markets such as music, movies, television and video games are all affected by the preferences of one of the largest consuming countries on Earth. If a certain type of movie is popular the time, it’s only reasonable that the movie producers would cater to that. The influences are wide spread and well defined in nearly all forms of pop culture. China, as a nation, is growing very rapidly, both economically and in terms of population. They’re spending power has grown nearly 57% in the last five years alone. This allows them to invest in foreign markets on an immense scale, and therefore hold considerable sway over what is produced and distributed. Industry is moving East, and as such, so is a lot capital which fuels this investment. The continuing growth is expected to be at least 30% in the next year for most major industries. Movies with martial arts sequences tend be very popular. Even if the actors are not themselves of Asian descent, the fighting styles are visually interesting, and therefore the movies do well. Actors like Jet Li, Jacky Chan and many, many more have revolutionized movie making by implementing different forms of karate, tai kwan do and other fighting styles. Movies like The Matrix, Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon and The Last...

...When the Greeks interacted with other cultures, they spread their culture to all parts of the world and history. They had the audacity to branch out to other areas of life that other civilizations had tried to dwell in before. Because of their discoveries, this therefore influenced the rest of the world, but did not change it. One of their major influences was politics and religion. With politics, the Greeks discovered through trial and error that Democracy worked for them, and that tyranny and anarchy did not. They also tested oligarchy and monarchies, which appeared to work, and are found throughout history and in the modern day world. Religion was another aspect that influenced the western world. The Greeks were polytheistic by nature,...

...How does our culture influence our identity and view of the world? There are several opinions whether culture influences us, never, sometimes, or always. Throughout this unit we have read and watched several pieces that can be used to argue each side of the argument. Pieces such as “Everyday Use” by Alice Walker, “An Indian Father’s Plea” by Robert Lake, and “Legal Alien” by Pat Mora, can be used to argue more than one of these views. These pieces show how culture constantly influences one and their view of the world. Some may believe that culture that culture rarely informs how we view the world and others. This can be argued using examples from Alice Walker’s short story “Everyday Use” in which two sisters “Dee” and “Maggie” who once shared a culture now see the world very differently. According to Dee, Maggie is “‘backward enough to put them to...

...standard of living, and I state that they are creating a single world culture. Modern technology has shortened the distance between cultures, and made the world smaller. People can travel or migrate from one place to another very quickly. They see how people in other zones dress, speak and behave. The more exposure to other traditions and customs they do, the more likely they adopt to those. As a result, their own traditions and customs are replaced by a massive one. Another reason for the impact of modern technology on creating a similar world is that it makes possible for cultures to communicate with each other. When watching TV programmes, searching web and chatting through the Internet, people learn about foreign cultures and try to make some of those their own. The exchange of knowledge has had a great impact on their lives. The café from Brazil, the scotch from Scotland, the cigars from Cuba, the wine from France, the American music, that appear and become well-known in many parts of the world are good examples of how modern technology influences people’s life and also creates a single world culture. With the rapid development of modern technology, people learn and come to appreciate foreign cultures. They recognize the value of variety. Therefore, in the near future, there will be many similarities in country’s cultures. Traditional cultures around the world may be more willing to join our call for a single world...
