...Lindsi Jones CWV-101 May 29, 2013 Andre Mooney Worldview Essay My Christian worldview has been instilled into me from a very young age. Being raised in the Deep South of Alabama, this has always just been the way of life for me. God is the Father, the Son, and the Holy Ghost- also known as the Holy Trinity. (Biblica, Inc. 2012. NIV). I believe this with my whole heart and in saying that, I have set the grounds for my Worldview Essay. Who is God? God is the Creator of the universe as we know it. He is the Alpha and the Omega, the beginning of the end. God created every form of life from humans to the fish in the sea and it only took Him six days. (Biblica, Inc.2012.NIV). God sent His only Son to die for all of our sins.(Biblica, Inc. 2012. NIV). God did this out of love for us, His other children. God has many characteristics such as mercy, grace, patience, unconditional love, and understanding. A human being is a child of God. We were made in His image (Biblica, Inc.2012.NIV). God created Adam and from his rib, Eve was created. God breathed life into both of them. This is where the first humans came from. When we die, our bodies are returned to dust and our souls go to Heaven or Hell- depending on whether we are saved or not. The nature of the universe is that we are born into sin. The Bible states in Genesis 3 that we are cursed due to the actions of Adam and Eve. (Biblica, Inc.2012.NIV.)The only way we can break this curse is to ask that Jesus...

...Eugene Hoem CWV101 2-16-2013 Instructor: Mr. Todd Forrest Worldview Essay My worldview is my set of assumptions and beliefs, which helps me determine right from wrong, and helps me define how the world works. I understand a very few things in this world, yet here are two facts that I have come to accept after hard-earned personal experience: I was heavily influenced as a child by my family’s worldview and my experiences in the world forced me to develop my own worldview. My worldview has been dramatically impacted by the sum of my experiences and has shaped all my beliefs. I have many and varied life experiences, including multiple jobs, I have interacted with thousands of people in my travels and have shared stories, experiences, and dialogue with them. I spent one complete career already in my life in the United States military and I entered the service at a very young, impressionable age where initial training serves one purpose; to break a person’s will, to make one doubt one’s self, and to question personal beliefs. Then the training moulded me and all the other individuals into different people with a whole new set of beliefs and ideas, thus reinforcing my point that my experience from basic training impacted my worldview. My travels in the military forced me to accept other cultures exist, they espouse different beliefs, and some of those beliefs conflict with my worldview. What I believe is almost as complex as how I developed why I believe in these ideas and...

...Biblical Worldview Essay Rosheda Dillon Liberty University Introduction The book of Romans was written by the apostle Paul, a servant of Jesus Christ. In Romans Paul wrote to Christians about how they should be living their lives. He writes about the power of God and how he will leads us to salvations. He is trying to teach us about condemnation, justification, and sanctification. He talks about those who reject God, reject his knowledge, because they think that they are better. We “are justified freely by his grace through the redemption that came by Jesus Christ” (Romans 3:24). Through faith in Jesus Christ it will lead you to salvation. Paul describes how our worldview should be on the natural world, human identity, relationships, and culture. Natural World In Romans 1:20, Paul writes that the world was created by God. We all know that He created the earth and everything in it. There is no excuse to sin since we know that He created all things. God has made it very clear how a person is to act within this world. As stated in Romans 1:20, “for since the creation of the world God’s invisible qualities- his eternal power and divine nature- have been clearly seen, being understood from what has been made, so that people are without excuse”. Those who have acted wicked and has shown ungodliness will see the wrath of God. We were all born with sin because of the sins of Adam and Eve. Christians should not be ashamed to practice their faith in God, because in faith it will...

...Worldview Essay People often have a hard time telling their beliefs amongst religion, because beliefs change by the day. In particular, I cannot express how I feel about religion in full detail without changing what I believe in the process. It is primarily because the world view on religion changes because new information is tested. Not only is it that the world changes constantly, but I do not find the courage to tell people about my views if only in the end I will be scolded on what may or may not be right about them because in all actuality it is my choice to believe whatever I insist on. The thought that I am able to change my mind of beliefs also frightens me that I will never be quite right. What I do know I believe about God and Jesus is questionable, I am aware that they are two different people and primarily play two different roles and are supposed to be that way. The bible is the “book of life” and it is said to guide us through life. It is known to determine whether or not we are going to “heaven” or “hell”. It teaches us how to live in the name of Jesus without sinning and committing any of the “wrongs” stated in the Bible. I am also aware that the Bible ends with “The Book of Revelation” and it states how God is coming back, but without reading it to get my own perspective I am unaware of what is really going to happen and the “Christian community” all have different beliefs about the revelation. The thing about religion is you have to know what you believe...

...Worldview Essay My worldview consists of knowing that God created the universe and everything in it. He created us in his image to take care of His creation and be companions for one another. God’s love reaches further than any human mind can fathom. God sent His only Son to die on the cross to save His creation from their sin and bring them closer to Him. I believe that God has a plan for all of us and we must be patient and listen for His answers to our questions. The Bible tells us what rules He has for us. I believe that the Bible is the word of God for the people of God. It is in a way a manual for the future to understand the past and how the future might look. I understand that my views are not the same as everyone else. I believe that my views change as I age and experience other fascists of life. Many people wonder who God is and what His characteristics are. God is father, son and Holy Spirit, the Three in One. In Exodus, we are told that the Lord is the One who brought us from Egypt and saved us from bondage. God is love, powerful, almighty and compassionate. Psalm 46:1, God is our refuge and strength. A very present help in trouble. That scripture shows that the Lord is a place of strength and peace from fear. Our Lord God is present with us always. He carries us through our troubled times to safety. God shows us compassion every time it rains, but not flooding the Earth. Human beings are the temple of the Lord God. We are living bodies able to love, hurt...

...Biblical Worldview Essay Danny Casteel Liberty University Biblical Worldview I’m a member at St. Thomas Baptist Church; we have service every Sunday morning from 11:15 until 1:30 that afternoon. Last Sunday one of my old friends showed up and he joined the church, after the service was over with, he approached me and asked bible study as well as Sunday school. Once I shared the information with him about what our church has to offer, I coincidently found myself holding a conversation about Worldwide Views. I love Romans chapter 1-8 and that’s where I get a lot of information about my world view. The Natural World Roman’s 1-8 covers a lot of aspects of a Christian worldview such as, human identity, culture, the natural world, and human relationships. The apostle Paul wrote the epistle of Roman’s while he was in the city of Corinth, to me, it is the most important letter written within the New Testament. All people have done wrong, Paul wrote in (Roman 1:20) “There are things about him that people can’t see his eternal power and all the things that make him God, But since the beginning of the world those things have been easy to understand by what God has made. So people have no excuse for the bad things they do.” If everyone would just stop and take a moment and look around at the things in nature that can’t be explained from people or Science, we would all believe in God. For example, the ocean and rain, these things can’t be explained by humans. So therefore, people...

...October 16, 2013 CWV-101 Rob Krise My Worldview Essay Introduction Understanding what a person’s beliefs are can help them when making life’s hard decisions. The beliefs a person has are his worldviews. Church, family, society, and knowledge of religion influence worldviews. Worldviews change and develop over a lifetime depending on life experiences and other influences. I will explain my views on God and how they affect not only my thinking, but also every aspect of my life in a positive way. Worldview Assumptions When I began this course, I did not know what to expect. However, I came to this class with my own world assumptions. I believe that in order to reach heaven, I must be baptized, and I must dedicate my life to God. I believe that it takes more than saying a person is Christian to be a Christian. I believe that attending church does not make one a Christian. Finally, I believe that I will go to heaven because my heart belongs to God. Questions and Answers from my Own Worldview Perspective Who is God and what are His Characteristics? God is the Father, the Son, and the Holy Ghost, also known as the Trinity. He is the maker and ruler of the earth and all of its inhabitants (Genesis 1:1). God is the only deity that can forgive the sins of man and allow them to enter heaven. The only way to God is through His Son, Jesus. We must accept that he is God’s son and ask him to enter our hearts in order to be saved by his grace. God is humble, compassionate...

...June 15, 2014 Theology 104 Biblical Worldview Essay Humanity in the image of God is indeed foundational to the faith, however, the exact definition is cloudy at best. “Unfortunately, Scripture never says in so many words what is meant by the highly intriguing term ‘the image of God.’ As a result of this lack of clarity, numerous understandings of the imago Dei have developed over the course of church history.” (Hindson, Caner 249) Three main views have surfaced to attempt to define what the image of God means. There is a relational view which states that the image of God is not something one can view or possess, but a dynamic experience of the relationship between God and humans, man and wife, or society as a whole. There is a functional view which lends the idea that the image of God is not who we are, or what relationships we experience, but what we do or the functions we perform. Lastly, there is the substantive view which simply states that the image of God relates to specific characteristics within humanity. (Erickson 170-178) The image of God in humanity was made perfect in Jesus Christ. “He is the image of the invisible God.” (Col. 1:15) If we are to be in God’s image, Jesus’ life and actions are “a perfect example of what human nature is intended to be.” (Erickson 176) Since Jesus was God Himself, then it is logical to conclude that doing one’s best to live out the attributes of God will bring one closer to representing God’s image. Throughout my career in the finance...

...Biblical Worldview Essay Introduction "What does it mean to be created in the image of God?" This question holds the key to the foundation the Christian faith is based. The image of God refers to the likeness, mentally, morally, and socially. Mentally, man has the freedom to choose and intellect like God. Morally, our conscience has been created in righteousness. Socially, when we love, we are demonstrating the likeness of God. My chosen vocation, Life Coaching, requires me to apply all God's characteristics that He exhibits. Example 1 Since mankind is created in the image of God, as a Life Coach, I shall respect others. 1 Peter 2:17 says, "Honor everyone. Love the brotherhood. Fear God. Honor the emperor." As a follower of Christ, biblical respect is to recognize that others are more important than myself. "Do nothing from selfish ambition or conceit, but in humility count others more significant than yourself." (Philippians 2:3). Because God has created us all in His image, we must show proper respect to all of God's children. People often speak about how others' have not earned their respect, but this is the wrong mentality to have about respect. This is not how God wants us to view respect for one another. We must be aware of others' faults and maintain a level of respect for everyone because God commands it. As a Life Coach, I must develop a godly, respectful attitude toward those around me. As a follower of Christ, I have to acknowledge that just as I am not...

...As Christians, I believe the sole responsibility lies on us to enable the church to reflect Christ to the community. The two easiest ways to do this, in my opinion, is to live out what you say you believe and to have a servant’s heart. For so long, the church has been accused of being full of “hypocrites” and “liars.” While this can be true, one of the easiest things a Christian can do to change this perception is to be mindful of their tongue. One of the biggest enemies of the Christian reputation is the least considered-the Christian’s words. The bible tells us the tongue has the power to speak life or death and this goes beyond physical death. If Christians would be mindful of the words they say then society’s perception would change. “The church should come alongside the individual and help build him or her up and encourage that person in his or her faith…” (Etzel & Gutierrez p.160) But it is often the opposite that the world sees. The bible says Jesus did not come to be served but to serve. If we want the world to have a better perception of the Church- what better way than to serve them? The church is the place where young believers discover their spiritual gifts and callings, and develop values and attitudes by which they will live. As these values and attitudes gain importance, they discover the must be honest, pure, obedient, and serve other people (Towns, p103). Being the hands and feet of Jesus and reaching out to our community allows them to not only hear...

...Cassandra Ann Wallace Liberty University Stuent Worldview Assignment I. Worldview is basically your view of the world, your beliefs, your goals, your thoughts, your answers to questions all pertain to your “view of the world.” How you live your day to day life and what you do with it, how you instruct others on life, also plays a part. II. A. Christian origin states that God “The Creator God,” created everything from the heavens to the earth. God created all of the universe, man, animals, and everything the heavens and earth touches. (Genesis 1:1 & Isiah 45:18) B. The identity of Christian worldview shows God as eternal and mankind is a creation of God therefore making them a special creation from God. Christians believe that God created mankind to be care takers of the animals and the rest of God’s creation and angels to be care takers of man. (Psalm 8:5 & Genesis 2:18) C. The meaning is about having a “real” relationship with God. It is not just about living how you think will get you to Heaven, but really living with God in your Heart and as your savior. The Bible and God will guide us and actually listening to how we should live to be finally one day accepted by him in Heaven. Going to church does not get you your automatic ticket to Heaven, you have to believe and follow the Holy word day by day and asking for forgiveness of your sins. (John 17:3 & Mark 3:25) D. Morality is based upon living for God, doing what God would want us to do...

...term “worldview” identifies the parameter of beliefs by which a person views the world around them. It is the filter in which one perceives or interprets everything. The term “worldview” became a popular term in philosophy and was used to describe the importance of how individuals from different cultures evaluated the world (Caner & Hindson, pg 478). Furthermore, as this term developed, it was believed that a person’s worldview was dictated by their emotions and how they feel. Christianity falls within theism based worldviews. For Christians, the bible provides the framework for how we address our existence, morals, values, and ethics. Therefore, it is understood that Christians exercise daily while using a biblical worldview. Throughout the bible, scripture indicates that God is the creator and spoke the world into existence. The first verse of the first book of the Bible clearly states, “In the beginning God created the heavens and the earth.” Additionally, Revelation 4:11 clearly identifies the Lord as the creator of all things due to His will. Psalms 100:3 states that “we are His people” because He has made us. God created man after His own image. Genesis1:26 clarifies that man is made in His image and man is to have “dominion over the fish of the oceans and over the birds of the heavens and over livestock of the earth”. Additionally, as God’s creation He made us with the ability to choose and pursue a relationship with Him. Having a biblical worldview, Christians...

...Chris Harvey BIBL110_B04_201420 03-1-14 In Galatians 5:16-18 the biblical audience was at odds with the law and receiving grace through Jesus Christ. They had to make a decision to either continue following the old ways and fall from grace or, live their life forgiven because of Jesus. The new soul would be free or the law but, held to the standard of Christ and not the flesh. They have to be on the watch to be for certain they are following the will of God and not their own desires. The biblical audience during this time period is much like todays audience in some ways and different in others. Both of the audiences are lead away by distractions. The audience of old was distracted by the law keeping some of them from fully following Christ causing conflicts in the spirit. The audience of today puts the world and what it has to offer above the will of Jesus. Both audiences put their will, circumstances, and sinful nature above Gods will. The theological principles reflected the text is, what it means to leave our old selves behind and how do we spiritually walk with Christ. We leave our old selves behind by giving up our worldly selfish ways and taking up the cross. We spiritually walk by seeking, understanding, receiving grace and sharing the grace we have been given by a loving God. When we do these things our old selves will be left behind and our new forgiven spirit will arise. Today’s...
