Rationale for the Biblical Worldview Essay Worldviews, they have shaped our lives and our understanding of what we believe to be right or wrong. Every person sees themselves through a particular set of beliefs, and values, they take root in us and are hard to change. Over time and as we grow up and become more of who we want to be, our worldviews change and they are influenced by our surroundings and teachings. Our worldviews provide a lot of answers for us whether right or wrong. Our dependency on our worldview has caused many to lose their ability to think or believe any other way, except for their way. This dependence has caused the truths about God to be totally forsaken. The keys to life and every answer we need is in God’s Word and His Word has transformed my worldviews. For example, our thoughts on the natural world, our identity, human relationships, and civilization all proceed from our worldview. Religion, and I use that term carefully, has a great influence on one’s worldview. When we look at the many different religions, the Christian worldview uses a filter or lens to separate their beliefs from others. That filter is the Bible, God’s written Holy Word. God has revealed himself from Genesis to Revelation and there is no room for discrepancies. For the Word of God says, “All scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness” (2Timothy 3:16 NKJ). When we look at the beauty of the natural world we wonder how it exists, we conclude to several different thoughts about it. However, we must concur that God spoke it, and

it happen. I love how our book states, “In one sense Genesis is the story of God, He speaks, creates, calls, blesses, promises, and visits to intervene personally in the lives of His people” (52). The Bible begins with a pronouncement, “In the beginning

...When you give thought to your perspective and what you believe, what you hold dear, and what you consider truth- you are crediting your worldview. When I think of the term worlview, I think of our individual identities, as well as our perception of what goes on around us. It’s the framework to our thought process and decision-making. Our moral compass, ethics and spiritual affiliation make up our worldview as well. So many things can factor into how we interrupt life events or other people. How we are raised, what’s taught to us in school or at home, or belief systems. All of these impact us on a daily basis. Our decision-making skills often rely heavily on our worldview.   When one thinks about theology and faith, in regard to Christianity especially--we understand that our worldview can sometimes be shared with others who believe in the same thing. There are 2.2 billion registered Christians worldwide, nearly a third of the world’s total population (6.9 billion). Lets say that half of the registered Christians are practicing Christians, and for the sake of this point lets assume that half of them try to uphold the teachings and practices of the religion. That would leave 1.1 billion people who in one-way or another share a worldview that is consistent with our own. Christians share several worldviews that are specific to our faith such as Heaven and Hell, God/Jesus/Holy Spirit, for some people knowing that others believe what they do or would approach a situation using a...
