...My Experience One thing that I learned about my writing from this project is that I can write a story or form a plot without needing an aspect of romance in my writing. In fiction I have written on my own, I have noticed an overwhelming theme of relationships just developing, but not necessarily needing to be in there. A lot of plots that I have developed have needed it, but this story is one in which I knew that there was no point for the character to have a relationship with anyone really, and I knew that it would be a challenge for me to keep that out. Additionally, I worried that I would write too much, but each time that I tried to add something in after I had completed the story, it felt too forced and made the story feel choppy and...

...Like reading, writing is one of the most basic processes that is important for people to express themselves. Writing allows us to grow as individual and help the civilization to advance toward other levels. Since centuries it was been demonstrated that someone with the faculty to read and write has the basic tools to develop himself and reach whatever goal he propose to himself. Writing could be fun process, but not an easy one. I can confirm that trough personal experiences all my life long. I started to have interests in writing when I was around 13-15 years old. I was following older kids living in my neighborhood who were writing poetry to seduce girls. Due to that, I was initiated into the reading process to have enough background to...

...Over the years my experience and improvement in writing has cultivated me into a person I believe would prosper in the Humanities program. The ability to write well and in a way that is coherent to those reading your work is an important skill no matter what field. As I interact with my fellow students I make sure to be an effective critic and listener. This would not only help my peers work but my own writing as well as I am paying attention to techniques as well as errors. As I am interacting with classmates as well as working on my own separate assignment I am improving my oral and written communication. The ability to explicitly explain and express yourself is a prerequisite of every subject in school as well as the outside world. However...

...My Experience in the Writing Process This semester I was surprised by how much I actually learned and developed my writing skills. I was given the opportunity to learn the many steps that it is required to become a good writer. Writing requires a lot of work. It consists of various steps; prewriting, drafting, rewriting, proofreading and publishing. . All of these components are extremely important, and necessary, and will need to be follow to improve student’s writing. I feel my writing has improved due to the help of the writing process and all the writing assignments I experienced. I was able utilized each of these components this semester. I wrote various journals and two essays, which were very challenging to me. The first essay I was asked to write, was a Narrative essay about an experience in which later I questioned my actions. At first, I was very nervous due to I have never written an essay before. I did not even know where to begin. I struggled during the whole process of writing the essay. My biggest problem of all was putting my thoughts in order so I could make sense of what I wanted to say. I brainstorm for days trying to figure out a topic. With the help of the eLearning text information on module 2, how to choose a topic and develop a working thesis I was able to come up with a topic. I finally came up with, Moving away from Friends and Family. Thanks to Module 3, Introduction to Narrative Essay, and the examples that were provided, I was able to...

...When I was in third grade, I remember learning how to write in cursive. At this point of time cursive was being taught in school. My mom would buy the practice workbooks for writing in cursive. Another literacy experience I remember is learning my multiplication. At school, we would sing songs, solve on paper and they would also time us on how many multiplication problems we can answer in a certain amount of time. Lastly, another literacy experience I remember is learning how to write an essay. I believe I learned how to write an essay in middle school. Learning how to write an essay was helpful because you would be continuing to write essays in high school and in college. I was happy that I learned how to write in cursive because it became helpful for me later on. In fourth grade, I moved back to New Orleans and started to go to school down there. In New Orleans after third grade you cannot write in print. I use to have to write everything the teacher put on the board. I didn’t have a problem writing everything in cursive though my hand would start hurting. Then eventually I moved to Florida with my aunt and my cousins. Sometimes I felt like I was a step ahead of everybody because people my age didn’t know how to write in cursive. Some of them were never taught to write in cursive. Even though many people didn’t know cursive too well I was...

...I have, in the past, been called a perfectionist. My experience with writing revolves mostly around me trying my hardest to write something I'm happy with and then pretty quickly deleting it when I decide it’s not good enough. For example, this is my fourth time trying to write an opening paragraph, my third time writing just this sentence, and I only settled on the words “opening paragraph” after writing both “first paragraph” and “the beginning of this paper.” It’s not that I have an issue finding the words, I just can’t seem to put them in an order i like. Which is why I stay on the other side of writing. I’ve been reading since a really young age. My first books were mostly science based due to my parents trying to raise me to be as...

...This is my writing experiences and history. I started with creative writing which I never completed and for school and then writing an essay on a subject which I just read a book on for homeschooling. When there was a deadline I always got it finished and as quick as possible and then making sure there is no grammar or spelling mistakes. My biggest weakness is that I procrastinate and will not sometimes finish a project. I will get anything done on time if there is a set deadline but otherwise will not usually get finished. My approach to English assignments is to get an idea, and then get it written or typed down, and then work on the grammar and spelling, and look for any missed punctuation. I spell much better than I did years ago from...

...My Writing experience: The Good The Bad and The Ugly I can recall a time when I had to write a paper for English Composition I. I was attending Ivy Tech Community College at that time. The professor asked the class to write a paper about our major, my major was Early Childhood Education. This experience I had at Ivy Tech was not my first when it came to writing a formal essay, but it was just as nerve wrecking as the first time. When I began writing formal essay papers, in high school, it was not easy for me. In the first part of this essay, I review my experience with writing in my childhood, then I will be talking about my terrifying writing experience in high school, and finally the years that have passed since I have not written any formal essays. In the second part of the paper, I describe my experience with Microsoft word, my experience with using MLA formatting style, and my experience using documentation in research papers. In my childhood, I have been state to state and attended...

...I have positive experiences with writing because I read a lot and I think that reflects in my writing and makes it writing easier. One thing I have learned from reading many books is to have my writing authentic and unique because those are the writings that stick with you. I have written a research paper, persuasive essays, book reports, and a reflection paper. One of my mistakes in writing is that I don’t know how to stop. I used to write very long stories in elementary school and my teacher had told my parents that I ramble a lot in my writing. Ever since, I’ve tried to control that and I try to write clearly and concisely without making it too repetitive or redundant. I like when I can essentially “hear my voice” when I read my writing, which is why as much as I do respect and appreciate criticism on my papers, sometimes I find it hard to change my writing because I want it to sound the most like me....

...Nicole Paskiang ENG-122 Reflective Essay 10/27/2013 What is my experience with writing so far? What is my experience with writing so far, well it starts with my songs, poems and short story all published in one form or another. I am in middle of writing one book and two screenplays; one screenplay is a miniseries and the other one is for a remake of a series, both are from the 90’s. I read a lot and watch TV and movies; I am a love fiction of all kinds. If I write without anything in the background I tend to be slower, so I write with the TV on so I have a noise in the background. Or I will listen to Pandora internet radio while writing. What do I think my greatest challenge is with the writing process; well I have to figure out just how to put the words on the paper. Now I have a program called dragon speak 12, which I use to get what I want down, because of my eye/hand disability. I have always had a problem writing notes and papers for my classes during school. How do I feel when I write, well I feel like I am doing something to better mine and my family’s life in the future. I cannot say that I feel nervous or confident, but I can say that I feel good when I write. It is like a part of my mind is taking over for the part that doesn’t like to work all the time. It is funny really, to sit down and start typing on one of my things and end up working on all three of them in about six hours. What tools will I need to grow as a writer, well I can see that my dragon...

I will compare my experiences to the writing of Almy and Genishi in Ways of Studying Children: An Observation Manual for Early Childhood Teachers and also the personal narratives of Mike Rose in I Just Wanna To Be Average, and Sandra Cisneros in Woman Hollering Creek. I will use these writings to show how it is possible for students to pass through their education, experiencing difficulties but never being diagnosed with a learning disability that they may have. Such experiences of students are important to note in order to better identify learning disabilities within schools in order to provide students with...

...A first memory of when I became interested in reading and writing was when I was about 5 and I read Green Eggs and Ham by Dr.Seuss. I remember just loving to read that book that I read it like 10 times and then my parents got me more Dr.Seuss’s books and I remember reading those books very quickly. I really enjoyed Dr. Seuss’s books because the drawings were so colorful and the rhyming I loved how his books always rhymed or how he created words to make the book rhyme. As I grew older my interested in literature varied widely, but I really enjoy reading vampire love stories. My love for this genre started with the Twilight series by Stephanie Myers and since those books did so well, writes continued to make more vampire love stories. Thus, making...
