Reflective Journal Assignment 1

Challenge 1 (Personal)

I have a very bad communication skills. It took a longer period of time for me to be able to make a friend compared to others. I would not start a conversation with a stranger as I kind of finds it weird, unless I have no choice. Because of this I have very little friends. I usually spent most of my time at work or at home. I would usually only go out with friends like once or twice a month as my social circle is very small. After being a year with my classmate in TP i am not really close with them because of this.

This challenge exists as i have a twin brother we spent three years in nursery and six years in primary school together. It total up to nine years. I would not have to make friends as my brother is always there for me. We would do everything together. This kind of create the current challenge I am facing. Kids usually learn how to make friends since they enter nursery or primary school but I only started learning how to make a new friend when I enter secondary as I entered a different school from my brother. It is kind of difficult as first but then I only have to make just a few of them to last me till secondary five. I have very little practice in this aspect. The first few months of polytechnic was also hard. In order to solve this problem I have to be more daring and outgoing and try to communicate with others. As practice make perfect. I believe one day I will be able to get over this obstacle and maybe expand my social circle. This will help me in my future as it help you to get to know and bond with your future colleagues better. More friends also means that there will be more people that will be there when you needed help.
