WWI undoubtedly had a negative impact on Canada. One of the most obvious negative impacts that WWI had on Canada was the enormous loss of life. Nearly 61,000 Canadians were killed, while 172,000 returned home wounded. Spanish Flu, an epidemic brought to Canada by returning soldiers and thus partially caused by WWI, claimed an additional ~50,000 Canadians. This heavy toll on Canada's population., especially considering that those killed were mainly young men, caused much damage to Canada's economy. The Great War also caused a large downward plunge in the morality of the nation. Many young men who had left Canada with a strong sense of traditional Christian morals returned doubting much of what they had been taught. The horrors of war they had
