The Conversation with a Stranger
“What a bad day!” I sighed deeply, and walked toward the bus stop. I sat on the bench, waiting for the bust to go back home. Obviously, that day was the worst day for me, and everything seemed so terrible. I began to recall the terrible experience I had that day, and even concluded that I was a absolute loser. All my endeavor seems to be meaningless, and had been totally denied that day. In that morning, I was disqualified for the cello test, which I had prepared for more than eight years, just because of the traffic jam. Then my cello, which had accompanied me since my first day to learn to play cello, was stolen in the canteen. What’s worse, I was told that my application for exchange learning had been rejected, for I was not excellent enough to meet the school’s requirement that I was applying for. “ I am such a no man.” My tears flew down. I put my hands over my face, and started to cry loudly.
“What are you crying for? Look at the blue sky, then you will be fine.” A mild male voice came into my ears. I looked up, and found a middle-aged man sit on my left. He seemed to be waiting for the bus too. He looked very ordinary, while also a bit different. “ None of your business!” My bad mood made me lose basic cultivation. “ The weather must be quite good. I could feel the soft wind and the warmth of the sunshine. My kid, today is a sunny day, right?” “Don’t you see the glaring sunlight? I'm not in the mood to answer you such a silly question.” I answered sharply. “Yes, I cannot see.” You did not care about my bad attitude, and turned to me with a smile. At that moment, I found that he was a blind man. “I am sorry, but…” “That’s all right. Do you have any sad thing? If you don’t mind, you could tell me. Maybe I can give your some advice.” Perhaps because of his friendly attitude, I began to tell my terrible experience that day. “ My poor kid.” He kept silence until I finished, “Life is not a bed of roses. Some difficulties could not be avoided. What we could do is just to face them with smile. I lost my son and my eyes in an traffic accident two years ago. However, I believe that my son must hope me to live well, rather than be lost in sad memory. My kid, life contains sufferings, as well as good things. Look at the sky and feel the sunshine from time to time, you would be more optimistic towards life.”
I lost in thought for a long time, and even did not know his left. Although I did not know who he was, his words affected me greatly. Since then, I had learned to face difficulties in my life bravely and optimistically, for I believed that nothing could beat me absolutely.
