Having to worry about what you're are going to eat, what clothes to wear, and most importantly where to go to get a roof over there head is something a student shouldn't have to go through. The Federal Programs provide many homeless students clothes to wear, discounted meals, and transportation (Lazara, 2014). These are some of the recourses that...

...Hi-Ho Yo-Yo, Inc. Company Background Hi-Ho Yo-Yo, Inc. (HHYY) was founded in 1993 by two business school graduates who thought there ought to be alternatives to the video game craze. Searching for a toy that could have mass market appeal they settled on yo-yos. Yo-yos have a nostalgic appeal to the baby boomer generation and are a novelty plaything for generation X. So, the main marketing thrust of HHYY is directed toward parents and grandparents rather than to the children who will actually play with the yo-yos. The latest advertising campaigns show 50-ish men competing in 1950’s era yo-yo competitions, grandmothers showing their grandsons how to do yo-yo tricks, and pre-teen girls trying to get their yo-yos away from their dads who are monopolizing them. This advertising campaign has been highly effective. After a couple of rough start-up years, HHYY achieved profitability in 1996 and has seen sales and profits increase each year since then. HHYY is a closely held Subchapter S Corporation with all the stock being held by the founders and their family members. The founders, John Cooper and Juan Martinez share the position of Office of the CEO. John is also the Chief Operating Officer (COO) while Juan is the Chief Financial Officer (CFO). An organization chart for HHYY is in Figure 1. The firm employees about 350 people in a single location in the suburbs of Cut and Shoot, Texas. Figure 1. Hi-Ho Yo-Yo, Inc. ...Robyn Rihanna Fenty (born February 20, 1988), known by her stage name Rihanna is a Barbadian recording artist, actress and fashion designer. She lived the life of a normal island girl going to Combermere, a top sixth form school. Rihanna won numerous beauty pageants and performed Mariah Carey "Hero" in a school talent show. Her life changed forever when one of her friends introduced her to Evan Rodgers, a producer from New York who was in Barbados for a vacation with his wife, who is a native. Rodgers arranged for her to go to New York to meet Jay-Z, CEO of Def Jam Records. He heard her sing and knew she was going to be incredibly successful. She was 16 when she was signed to Def Jam. Since then, she's amassed phenomenal success. After watching Rihanna’s 2013 Grammy performance of her hit song ‘Stay’ it led me to conclude that Rihanna has a Strong personality, an assumption which is based off the application of Evolutionary psychology and Existential psychology concepts. As she sang, the audience could feel her raw emotion, it didn’t feel rehearsed it felt real, which was only suitable since the song can be seen as a representation of the current dilemma she currently faces in her love life with ex lover Chris Brown. Existential Psychology is the study of human existence, however Rollo May focuses on concepts like freedom, responsibility, Authenticity, Death, courage, anxiety, destiny, dasein , daimonic , etc. All of which can be found in the traces of rihanna’s personality that...

...The Real Definition of Success A mansion, a sports car, and financial freedom are all very alluring signs of success to some. To others, success includes materialistic things such as a yacht, a camper, and a cottage tucked away by the lake. According to a study conducted by World Health Organization, 15% of people in high-income nations report being depressed, while only 11% in lower-income countries report being depressed (Bromet). Looking at these statistics, one can assume that the correlation of wealth and depression are positively related. It is clear, as shown by the previously stated statistics, that money does not always lead to happiness. To others, success may also be defined as “the fact of getting or achieving wealth, respect, or fame” (“Success”). However, the true definition of success does not include any of these things listed above. Success does not include material goods but it is rather tied to expansive, more meaningful perceptions such as happiness, persistence, and overcoming hardships. One way to measure success is by how happy a person is. For some people, they might feel their happiest when they have lavish items. However, this is not true for everyone and is not a correct scale of success. Happiness for most people is a joyful and affectionate family. If this is what success means to someone, then one’s family is what outlines one’s success. Dr. Dennis Kimbro, author of multiple best sellers, interviewed many successful people about their definition...

...I lived in a time when my people weren’t even considered people. In that time, some of my people acted more civilized than the people who dared to say we weren’t functioning members of society like our lighter skinned, blue eyed counterparts. This time in which I was born in stemmed from a kind of so-called “physical” slavery from the white man to the blacks. I remember I never understood the concept of the physical slavery back in the 1800s as a child. My parents used to talk about those kinds of things a lot, sometimes too much, when I was younger. And of course, it called for questions. “Momma, can’t they just leave the plantation? You said they wasn’t chained up or anything, so why can’t they just run away? That’s what I would’ve done,”...

...We Are Not A Gang! We Are Family!: Juggalos Fight Back Abstract “Juggalo” is the name of the very dedicated fans of the Insane Clown Posse and the other artists on the bands record label Psychopathic Records. In 2011, the FBI’s Gang Activity report listed Juggalos as a growing gang threat in the United States. Since then, Juggalos from across the country started flooding Psychopathic Records and the Insane Clown Posse with e-mails stating that they were being harassed by law enforcement just for having the logo of Psychopathic Records the Hatchet Man (shown on title page) on the back windows of their cars, walking into their probation officers office with Psychopathic Records gear on, even just walking down the street with an Insane Clown Posse T-Shirt on. Why are all Juggalos being targeted, instead of just those with affiliations to an actual gang? Has this kind of blatant labeling of an entire fan base ever happened in music before? What is Psychopathic Records and the Insane Clown Posse doing about the FBI’s new label on Juggalos and what impact is it having on the band, and the business they represent? What is a Juggalo? It’s not just the name of a song by the Insane Clown Posse, it is the name given to their ultra-loyal almost cult-like fan base. To the fans of the band, it is the name that was used to describe the audience at a live concert in 1994 by Joe Bruce, better known to the Juggalos as “Violent J” during the song “The Juggla” from their first full length...

...The Art of Peer Pressure by Kendrick Lamar It is necessary that I begin with disclosing the fact that this song is just an extract of an album that describes the reality of a portion of our society that, unfortunately, is in much more need of help than any of us care to realize. In his album good kid, m.A.A.d city, Kendrick Lamar tells a first person story of a day in the life of a “crew” of young gangbangers from Compton, CA. The album is full of songs that capture specific thoughts, feelings or provide background to what is happening in the story at that particular moment. The transitions between songs present multiple voice recordings from Kendrick’s and his mother’s voicemail. These transitions are part of the album’s chronological order and are vital in attaining a complete personality and mental profile of the characters followed throughout the story. Simply, the songs and transitions are each just a part of a “bigger picture”. There is one song, though, that tells a particular story which I think accounts for the largest piece of this “bigger picture”. The Art of Peer Pressure K.dot (Kendrick Lamar) and three of his blood are driving around Rosecrans in a white Toyota. K.dot (16) is the youngest member of the crew and the oldest is 23. His mother is concerned that he will not get to 11th grade if he keeps “messing around with those damn hoodrats”. This is established in a previous song, but it is indicative that his performance in school has dropped as of recently...

...Lovers Or Friends “Wake up Eric time to go to school its your first day, don't want you to be late on your first day of school” Eric mom yelled. “Coming mom” said Eric, “Wait one second and let me put on my shirt” Eric added. The bus pulled up in front of the white picket fence house and Eric is still not ready so he grabs his comb, brush, and his book bag and rush onto the bus. Everyone on the bus starred at Eric as he walked up the three black and dirty stairs. “C'mon boy sit down so we can leave to head to school” the rude bus driver said. Eric didn't know who to sit by because he was new to the school and obviously he thinks no one is going to talk to the new kid.
