What are the causes and effect of youth crime?

Nowadays, the topic of youth crime had caught more attention all over the world, more specifically, it’s a growing concern due to the increasing social influence, such as offending, re-offending, hate and drug crime. What’s the reason for youth crime? What’s the exactly effect of youth crime? Is there any effective solution that can help young people decrease the crime rate? These are the three parts we will clarify in this essay.

First of all, from my point of view, the reason caused youth crime is mainly connected with the family. Nowadays, due to the parents in most the families need to work for their economic reason, lack of time caused less communication between children and parents, children might be neglected and feeling cannot get support from the parents when they need, they don’t have enough life experience for the right justice, so that they are easy to lost themselves when they meet some problem in their life, so that they use their own way, which is easy to cause the crime, to solve the problem. Besides, the other factor is the increasing levels of poverty around the world. We have seen with globalization the rich get richer and the poor get poorer, and this inevitably means that those who are poorer will have to resort to illegal means to get what others have. Of course, this caused youth crime of the children from the poorer families.

As the consequence, youth crime caused quite serious social effect, not only in short term, but also in long term. From short term perspective, youth crime annoyed social safety, such as drug deal or offending, usually accompanied with fighting, injure such these kind result. But from long term perspective, these crime activities affect social safety, serious health concern, so that increase the social burden.
However, since the youth crime had caught the attention from the society, people are working to tackle such problems. Firstly, one of the ways to combat the problem is to have stricter punishments. Although, as discussed above, it can be outside factors that lead to crime, it is still important to have severe punishments to deter teenagers from crime. Secondly, parents also have to take more responsibility for their children’s actions, they also should be punished if their children commit crime, so that increase their attention to guide their children correctly. Thirdly, government should take part of the responsibility as well, to limit the violent movie to the young people, since they are easy to imitate the crime due to lack of the proper judgment of what might cause crime.
To sum up, several factors have led to increases in youth crime, and it cannot be ignored by the society nowadays, as long as the society, parents will take the proper and correct action to help the young people to create correct view of value about their lives, the problem would be easy to tackle.
