On a daily basis teens watch YouTube videos. There’s everything from music videos, medical procedures, and cooking instructions. There are also videos showing teens and pre-teens uploading videos that encourage dangerous and sometimes deadly challenges. The more outrageous the challenge the bigger audience you will have. A lot of kids end up in the emergency room. “Last week a 15-year-old boy died while copying a YouTube video he and his friends had seen. While standing, he passed out, and fell forward crashing into an empty drinking glass. His collarbone broke the glass and a shard sliced through his interior and exterior jugular vein. He died shortly after arriving at the hospital. It’s called the choking game. (kidsdr)”
There are many types of challenges, ranging from a little bit of danger to very dangerous. The chicken nugget challenge is a challenge where you have to eat a number of chicken nuggets as fast as you can. The chubby bunny challenge is where you shove marshmallows in your mouth and say chubby bunny, the one with the most marshmallows in their mouth, and is able to clearly say chubby bunny, wins. These challenges are dangerous because there is a high risk of choking.
Two challenges that teens are doing are the gallon milk challenge and the Sprite and banana challenge. These challenges ultimately end up with the challenger vomiting. A very popular challenge is the cinnamon challenge, when someone tries to swallow a spoonful of cinnamon without water; it almost always results in choking, according to a study, which appears in the journal Pediatrics. Cinnamon can also coat the airways and get stuck in the lungs (Aditi Mukherji).
Another very dangerous challenge is the salt and ice challenge. This challenge results in burning the skin. Doctors in Detroit have voiced concern over the number of teenagers being injured while taking part in a dangerous new craze which involves them burning themselves by holding a piece of ice to a layer of salt on their skin. In extreme cases the 'game,' called the 'salt and ice challenge,' could cause permanent damage to muscles and bones (Sam Adams).

Sigma Aldrich

...struggling with appealing to the younger audience. Sigma Aldrich needs us to develop a strategy/message to sway scientists and lab personnel from being aware of their products to preferring their products. As of now, they heavily rely on their brand name to sell their products, which is the main reason they rarely interact on social media. By coming up with specific ideas, our team can help Sigma Aldrich become the company that scientists prefer. Possible Social Media Notions Sigma Aldrich does not have popular social media sites, and while being a scientific company that might be difficult to accomplish. However, since their challenge to us is to appeal to the younger audience, perhaps increasing the popularity on some of their social media sites could at least allow new scientists to become aware of their products. But as we know, this is not their challenge to us. Furthermore, if Sigma Aldrich were willing to give out free samples for the first 100 people to like their post or for the first 50 people to retweet their tweet, that could potentially allow new scientists, and even scientists currently using their product, to prefer their product over one of their competitors. Another way that Sigma Aldrich could persuade scientists and lab personnel to use their products as opposed to competitors is by rewarding customers who use their products frequently. For example, if a...

However, one social media website, YouTube (www.youtube.com) took advantage of the World Wide Web capitalizing on the technological aspect of globalization. YouTube’s popularity quickly grew making it one of the most popular video sharing websites in the world. Its success placed it at the forefront of globalization. YouTube branched out over several key components of globalization. YouTube Sahlin and Botello (2007) describe YouTube as a well-known pop culture phenomenon, a site where you can view excerpts of your favorite TV shows, see your favorite music videos, and view game-winning replays of your favorite sports teams. This website allows users to upload, view, and share videos worldwide. These videos make their way into the public media and even find their way onto the news, entertainment shows, and commercials. YouTube plays a critical part in today’s global society intertwining different international cultures, ideologies, economies and politics. Examples Cultural YouTube’s impact on globalization is its ability to host international audiences segregated by cultural and language barriers yet they all share common interests readily found on YouTube. Because there are millions of users worldwide accessing the website, YouTube broadcasts in 28 languages (Blogspot.com, n.d.). ...Thesis: The challenges of being a single parent include managing finances, responsibilities and resources The challenge of being a single parent has become harder over time. The fact is that over time things have changed but not for a single parent. Statics show that there has been a steady rise for five decades and that the births to unmarried women has crossed a threshold. An example of this would be, a single mom that can’t provide day care for her child because her income is not enough to pay the bills and day care. The challenges of being a single parent include, managing finances, responsibilities and resources, their work is never done nor are their struggles. One of the challenges a single mom has raising her son and daughter would be getting up at 4am taking 3 buses to transport her children to her mother (who lives on the other side of town). Spending 2 hours getting there and another 3 buses and a hour and a half getting to work. There is a limit on everything she does because she does not have the opportunity to get an education, she has to work and provide for her family. Pawning valuables to make ends meet when money is short, living from pay check to pay check. Child support is another challenge for a single mom when the children’s father does not work, all the financial responsibility is on the single parent. Another challenge to a single mom is that because she is a woman, to keep from being taken advantage of, she will pay more money for rent to keep...
