Personal Statement

I’m 16-year-old student that is studying at Beechwood Sixth Form in Year 12. I finished my GCSE exams in June and I have gained 2 GCSEs in English as well as ones in Core Science and ICT all at Grade C at GCSE level. I’m currently studying BTEC Sub-Diploma Business Studies, BTEC ICT Full Diploma and BTEC Sub-Diploma Travel and Tourism.

I’m a hard-working and disciplined person as I do strive and try to do the best I can. I carry a positive attitude around the environment because I can communicate well with others and help out when needed. The reason I have applied for this role is because it’s a role that suits me and which I’m comfortable at. I would like to work because I would like to gain some useful experience that will help me in the future. For the 12 months, I have been looking at various places to work but now, I feel I have found the right place. I’m also happy to help out with placing the stock at the right places. I’m very keen on earning myself a place here because I have been waiting for a chance to work here and at other places for a long time. I’m also exceptionally organised as I like to keep stuff in place rather than it being in a mess. I’m also confident with advising customers on what there is in stock, what to buy and what not to buy because I’m a friendly and easy-going person. I’m also very welcoming as I’m capable of greeting customers with a positive attitude. I’m also a team player as I can get along with whoever I’m with and co-operate well with them. In order to fulfil this role, I will make sure I satisfy the customers’ needs, manage the store well in terms of keeping it clean and tidy and work well with others as a team. I would like to gain some experience from working here because it is something that will look impressive on application form to a university. I have travelled to various countries like Norway, Pakistan for family reasons in the past which has helped me to understand the culture of various places. I can also speak Urdu fluently as it is my first language. I wanted to work during the summer holidays this year but because of my health and family issues, I missed out the opportunity to work. Now that Christmas is approaching, I do not want to waste this opportunity and want to make the most of it and I would love to be given a chance.

Interests
My main hobby is football because it is a sport that I love watching and playing.
I used to play for my primary school’s B team in Year 6 at Hillside Primary School, Ipswich where I played as a centre-back. I also have a huge interest in video games because I’m always interested in the next FIFA, Call of Duty or GTA to come out.
From Year 7 to Year 9, I held up the responsibility of being a librarian as well as gaining Bronze in my school’s Elite Learners Programme in Year 7. In Year 11, I became a senior prefect and I’m currently applying to become a Sixth Leader.
In addition to this, another interest of mine is Movies because I like to keep myself up to date with today’s media such as movies, music and many more.
Last month, I performed voluntary work for the school where I welcomed parents and future students into Beechwood. Along with other students in my year, we welcomed them politely and showed them around.
