...SYNOPSIS Born in Ohio on March 19, 1986, Casey Anthony stepped into the national spotlight after the suspicious disappearance of her daughter, Caylee Anthony. As her story unfolded, many believed she was unquestionably guilty. The jury, however, felt differently. Anthony was acquitted of the murder charge, but she found herself loathed by the general public. EARLY YEARS Born on March 19, 1986, in Warren, Ohio, Casey Anthony was one of two children of Cindy Anthony and George Anthony, who worked in law enforcement. Casey was a bright, personable young girl, with friends and what many thought was an ordinary American family. However, friends say that a pattern of lying began when Casey was in high school. Cindy and George attended Casey's graduation, along with Casey's grandparents—only to discover that she was several credits short of graduating. Casey had stopped attending classes toward the end of the school year, but led her family to believe she would walk with the graduating class. When she was 19, Casey gave her family yet another shock. She had put on weight, and her parents suspected she was pregnant. Casey denied it, claiming she was a virgin. Seven months into her pregnancy, she told her parents the truth. The identity of the baby's father, however, remained a mystery. Casey pointed to different men, including her fiancé, Jesse Grund, as well as a young man she had dated previously, who had died in a car crash. On August 9, 2005, Caylee Anthony was born. A friend...

...UNIVERSITY OF PERPETUAL HELP SYSTEM LAGUNA College of International Hospitality Management Sto. Niño, Biñan, Laguna Theories on Tourism Development Catherine Evangelista H3A Ms. Gladys Joy Sabater - Tallorin Cohen’s Classification Cohen’s classification of tourist is based on the theory that tourism combines the curiosity to seek out new experiences with the need for the security of familiar reminders of home. Most tourists prefer to explore the destinations from a familiar base. The degree of familiarity of this base underlies Cohen’s typology in which he identifies four tourist roles: Cohen in 1972 developed a theory which is related to the behavior of tourists. He classified the typology of tourists based on their behavior into four namely; Organized mass tourists- these tourists travel in groups. They buy a packaged tour which is arranged in advance by a travel agent or a tour operator. Individual mass tourists- each member of the group has a certain degree of control over his time and itinerary and is not bound to a group. He makes his individual decision about his activities. Explorers- such tourists arrange their own trip. They associate with the local residents and try to speak the local language. However, they do not adopt completely the lifestyle of the host country. Drifters- these tourists avoid contact with other tourists. They stay with the locals and share their food, shelter, and habits. They are almost totally immersed in the host...

...To our beloved principal Madam Lolita M. Arciaga, to the administrative officer Madam Zenaida Batingana and the faculty; my fellow graduates, parents and guardians, honored guests, ladies and gentlemen, good morning. Class 2011 today is a turning point of our lives. We have spent the past four years in searching the halls of this great school, Doña Carmen Denia National High School, and now we are gathered here to be rewarded; to reap the fruits of our labor and to claim the merits for our endeavors. When we first entered the portals of our dear Alma Mater, we were filled with hopes and dreams. We hope to satisfy our parents with good grades. We hope to excel in the class. We struggled to be on top. Thus, we must be proud for ourselves. We should be honored for we surpassed and conquered the challenges in high school. We should be happy because we survived. For four years we learned, laughed, cried, and most of all matured together. However, today doesn’t just about reminiscing the past, it’s about looking forward to the future. Life is a sequence of passageways. We are leaving one and move to the next. When we reach college we will start over another journey. We will meet new people, make new friendship and learn new things. We will grow older, more mature, more responsible and independent. After that, we are left to pass through the unmapped area and that is our future. As I gaze over the many faces I witness today, discernment of individuals are washed away. I...

...Diverse Animals SCI/230 Joseph Keen 11/13/2011 The animal Kingdom encompasses all sentient organisms on planet Earth, the study of which takes years to fully comprehend and master. There are many orders, types, and species within this vast grouping, and while some types of animals are commonly understood, the characteristics unifying members of other groups can be more elusive. This paper seeks to better identify the defining factors of these groups and illustrate their differences. For the purposes of comparison, eight animals have been chosen for this paper as examples by which to better understand the differences between mammals, insects, bids, and echinoderms. Mammals are the most well-studied class in the Kingdom Animalia, but are not even close to the largest on the planet. They are defined by three common characteristics unique to this class: hair, mammary glands, and 3 middle ear bones. Panther pardus, or the Leopard of Africa and Asia are a classic example of this class, having all three defining characteristics. Simia paniscus, or Spider Monkey, by comparison, is also covered in hair, nurses it’s young, and contains 3 middle ear bones. Both species also share four working legs, and can be found in multiple types of environments including tropical, savannah, dense forest, and in captivity. While both can be found among the trees, spider monkeys make their homes near the tree tops, while the leopard prefers to keep closer to the ground. Leopards are among the...
