With an enrolment of about 550, the Roman Catholic school, situated some 36 km outside Nyanga in the Eastern Highlands, has its pupils brimming with a new sense of confidence. While in 2012 Marist Brothers (The Little Brothers of the Virgin Mary) Nyanga were beaten to the top spot by their provincial rivals St Faith’s Secondary, the academic powerhouse has managed to climb back up the rankings. Over 20 students at the school scored 15 points and above, with the highest Terrence Muradzikwa attaining 25 points or straight As in Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry, Economics and Business Studies. Muradzikwa has since been awarded a scholarship to study at Harvard University in the United States of America beginning August.
