We have a responsibility to ensure that we do not stumble. God has given us everything we need to live a godly life and to participate in his divine nature so that we can stand and not stumble. God has done his part. In verses 5 through 7, Peter outlines the efforts that we are responsible to carry out. In these verses, Peter outlines our participation in this partnership. Before I talk about these efforts though, I need to talk about the Greek figure of speech that I alluded too earlier.

Paul has such a fascinating story of his life, conversion, and testimony. Paul, before he was Paul the great apostle, was a man named Saul. Saul was one of the cruelest men in the Bible and was well known for being the "Christian killer.” Saul went around finding professing Christians and putting them to death. One of the great men in the Bible that did so much for Christ was Stephen. Stephen was a beautiful example of a God fearing, Spirit led man, who was assassinated by the people being coerced by

One day, Dimmesdale asked Chillingworth where he found a certain herb. On a grave, of course: "They grew out of the dead person's heart, and typify, it may be, some hideous secret that was buried with him, and which he had done better to confess during his lifetime". Maybe, Dimmesdale suggested, the man wanted to confess but could not. He said that the idea that the weeds sprang from a secret was unbiblical—definitely just Chillingworth's invention. Nobody would fear telling their secrets when they're

The Omen tells the story of the childhood and the first escape from persecution of the anti-Christ. As the poem read by Father Brennan foretells, several events, i.e. the Jews’ return to Zion, a comet’s appearance, and the rise of the Holy Roman Empire, signal the arrival of the biblical figure. He rises from the eternal sea, which is interpreted to be the world of politics, as the adopted son of the US Ambassador to Great Britain, Robert Thorn. Robert and a photographer journey back to Damien’s

to give you more problems. Rather, ‘trouble’ the situation and circumstances by constantly and continuously giving them more words. This is the reason why Jesus said that you should pray without ceasing. He knew why He said that. You might be a Christian and you are telling yourself that you have prayed over this same problem for one or two years now but there are no results yet. It is because you are counteracting your prayer with negative words. You tell every Tom, Dick and Harry you meet about

We first meet John when he and his brother James when Jesus calls them to leave their lives as fisherman and become

Daniel Snow, the youth pastor at my church, has had a great impact and influence on my life. He is the leader of all the youth organizations and events at my church. I started coming to church around six years ago, and one of the main reason I liked going to church was because Daniel would make everything fun and interesting for the youth in the church. I would go to Sunday school with my brothers and he would lead the devotions for the classes. Daniel donates so much of his time and his life
