On Monday, September 29 I went to the Faculty Artist Concert Series on campus. This particular concert was titled “Faculty Showcase”, obviously that means throughout the concert, the faculty at the University of Indianapolis would showcase their particular strengths. The concert was in fact free and open to the public and everyone on campus. I earned L/P credit from attending which meant there were several other students there. The concerts on Monday nights usually only provide four, five or six

Concert Review # 2 The second concert I attended conducted by Sidney Harth on February 21st was at the Carnegie Music Hall in Oakland and was actually my first time at the music hall because the first concert was cancelled and I am from the Buffalo, NY area. I can definitely say that it is one of the most beautiful buildings that I have ever seen in my life. As you walk up the stairs and begin through the large chambered doors you get the feeling an old castle were kings, queens and the royal

My First Concert Crazy, violent, confusion, these are only a few words that can describe my first real concert. I guess that makes it sound like something bad could have happened…In reality, this was one of the most fun nights of my life. The night was filled with a bunch of new experiences and memorable ones as well. I was 16 years old, was always into punk rock and the related genres, slowly transitioning into hardcore rock and metal. At the time I was not aware of the huge differences of the

She corrected minor mistakes that the songs they were playing and gave excellent instructions to the jazz group. I was very excited about visiting this concert. Copland and Gershwin with Michael Morgan, a fellow student in this class but had to cancel due to an illness that put me in the hospital. So I bought tickets to see the Conductor Laureate Raymond Leppard, but he had to cancel due to health issues. The concert I attended was downtown, and I live downtown so the drive wasn’t far at all. I used Hilbert’s valet service that cost me $15 but I was worth it that way I wouldn’t have to waste any time looking for parking. Once I got into the building

Mark Small, saxophone and George Mazzio substituted Rodolfo Zuniga on drums. Auditorium was about one-third occupied. As usual, performance took place at Wolfson campus auditorium with convenience of campus parking and easy public access. This concert was definitely different from other performances of the season. Biggest surprise was organ itself. I am used to church organ performances, with slow, lengthy music played by organist. Jazz organ performance is something else. It almost sounded like

Music Class Paper By Tenzin Wangyal Faculty: Professor David Claman On October 24th, 2013 at 7:30 pm, I went to a fundraising concert for the Garrison Institute at The Town Hall (123 West 43rd Street, New York City) called In the Spirit: Music From the World’s Great Traditions. While standing in the queue at the box office, I felt a little out of place and discouraged, since most of the people there were senior citizens who were very well and formally dressed; I was the only one wearing orange

Minh Vuong MUSIC 104-01 Concert review #1 Kletz Coffeehouse Band Performance On September 19th this year, I experienced the best student band concert I have ever seen. That day, some of my friends asked me if I want to go with them to Kletz at 9 for a little coffee and some music. It was a Thursday night and I still have tons of unfinished homework, but for some reason I still decided to go with them. There were a lot of people there, and all of them were doing homework. After 5 minutes, I’ve
