This sculpture is all made of marble and painted in light gray. It was from Roman during Augustan or Julio-Claudian period. Right now this marble statue is displayed at The Metropolitan of Museum of Art and located in the section of Greek and Roman art on the first floor. Accounting to the instructions from the Metropolitan museum, Statue of Dionysos leaning on a female figure is a gift from the Frederick W. Richmond Foundation, Judy and Michael Steinhardt, and Mr. and Mrs. A. Alfred Taubman, 1990.
