composer Frédéric Chopin. My favorite song of professor Prencivil’s selections were “La Donna e Mobile” because is a song that tells a story about the tightly nature of women and their unstable emotions. Also, professor Princivil did a splendid performance because he put emotions and feelings together in this song, and I could perceive it because I got the

Since I was young I have been involved with dance. Due to this, stories and even a word by itself is translated into movement in my mind. I envision a dance in the creation of a story from Hint Fiction through a different medium for this reason. The similarity of having to analyze word content for this genre in order to understand the story applies for dance as well. Both of these mediums have an aspect of drawing from the material and connecting the dots in a way to try to understand the story.

As I watched The Illusion I knew what was going to happen at the end. I knew that Calisto would not be dead even though he was killed. I knew that he was living in Paris as a theater actor. Since I read the book first I understood the play much better. Reading the book was challenging. The book was confusing because scenes kept changing as well as the names of the characters. I could not understand how one person could be three different characters. As I watched the play I could see how each scene

start by saying that I watched a musical, as it was all that was readily available to me. I am not a big fan of musicals, and that will have a definite effect on my opinion I’m sure. Further, it is a little difficult for me to determine how a stage performance has been performed, without viewing multiple productions, or at least reading the script. However, as I did not have access to these options, I will try my best. In any case, a few months ago, I had the distinct privilege of watching a Lansing High

Each semester, a variety of chamber groups, orchestras, soloists, and world music ensembles take the spot light at a plethora of venus across the University Michigan’s campus. They all have their own sound, whether that is made through a certain genre they play in particular, or because of the instruments used within the ensemble. Two varying groups that compare and contrast well with each other that I saw play this semester was the New York Philharmonic and the University of Michigan’s (U of M)

“To be or not to be? That is the question.” This soliloquy has been used thousands, maybe even millions, of times. The Tragedy of Hamlet is written as substantial, yet subtle in this dramatic play. Shakespeare creates this drama with twists and turns in each scene, which spikes some readers to sit on the edge of one’s seat. Shakespeare uses soliloquies, dramatic dialogues, and revenge tragedy to unfold a tremendous amount of details of Hamlet, thus causing a dramatic irony approach. Between the

i had never been to a musical concert before Friday December 9th, the concert that I attended was interesting and worth seeing. There were both things that I viewed to be positive and negative about this concert. Each song had something different to offer from the feeling of each piece, what I like and disliked about the piece, and my/crowd’s reaction. March was one of the first pieces I heard. This piece was quite peaceful. There was a smooth melody throughout the work. Although the melody was

On the 28th of March, I decided to attend yet another trio concert at the breathtaking Dr. Bobbie Bailey & Family Performance Center. Arriving on time, I walked in and took my sit immediately as if I was a regular at this point. The daunting and new hall that I entered for the first concert has now become more of a comforting place filled with amazing musicians. Like the last concert at this hall, this concert was compromised of a trio. It was nice to see Charae Krueger (cello) and Robert Henry (piano)

Season are so talented that watching Apollo recently has been a grand experience. The precise way the women were split into three groups (for a total--ironically--of nine muses) was impeccable! Three other "muses" that deserve to be seen in future performances of Apollo are Ashley Laracey, Brittany Pollack and Unity Phelan.
