limitation and inefficiency. It includes: The wireless link characteristics are time-varying in nature: There are transmission impediments like fading, path loss, blockage and interference that adds to the susceptible behavior of wireless channels. The reliability of wireless transmission is resisted by different factors. Limited range of wireless transmission – The limited radio band results in reduced data rates compared to the wireless networks. Hence optimal usage of bandwidth is necessary

have better coverage because wireless technology enables the user to communicate while on the go. You don't need extra cables or adaptors to access office networks. Flexibility- Office-based wireless workers can be networked without sitting at dedicated computers, and can continue to do productive work while away from the office. This can lead to new styles of working, such as home working or direct access to corporate data while on customer sites. Cost savings-Wireless networks can be easier and cheaper

access point operates. How does wireless network communication differ from wired network communication? (3 points) An access point is like a hub, in the sense that all computers send signals through it to communicate with other computers. The difference is that signals don’t travel through a physical medium; they travel through the air waves and radio signals. An access point is like a wired hub; all stations hear all network data transmitted by all other wireless devices in the network. All

Wired and Wireless Networks ITT Technical Institute Physical Networking – NT1310 11/10/2014 Wired and Wireless Networks The biggest difference between these two types of networks is one uses network cables and one uses radio frequencies. A wired network allows for a faster and more secure connection and can only be used for distances shorter than 2,000 feet. Several other disadvantage of a wired network such as the “need to run cables in difficult environments through walls, floors and ceilings

Wireless Access An assessment of the wireless coverage was conducted with BT that resulted in uncovering 4 problematic areas at the following locations: downstairs in the Acoustics Lab, downstairs in open space conference room, and two overlapped upstairs in stack velocity area, causing the whole corner to be out. This issue has been resolved by tracing the cables and identifying the problematic ports. Once the appropriate ports were identified, BT added the WAPs back to the WLC. Going forward
