Current System:
Ashwani and sons being a small but heavy on Inventory Company has to take care of a lot of inventory. Company has to keep a lot of inventory and raw material at any point of time as it has to cater last moment orders as well in accordance with constant customer like Railways and Defence Ministry of India.
The Raw material being most important part of company operations till date has been taken care with help of excel sheet. 3 Excel sheets linked to one another are used to keep the account of below parameters:-
1) By Sales Team:-
1) Customer Details
2) Product Code
3) Product Quantity Shipped

2) By Manufacturing Team:-
1) Kit Due
2) Total Parts
3) Weekly Manufacturing
4) Total Manufactured

Below table shows the Excel Sheet, Workbook 1, giving a glimpse of how sales team maintains the level of finished goods to be sent to customers and in which week of the month. Below table shows the Excel Sheet, Workbook 2, giving a glimpse of how manufacturing team maintains the level of Kits Due, Total Parts, and weekly manufactured parts.

Both the above table are used in accordance to reach at following conclusions:-
1) In week 43 Total kits due of one particular product [Steel Amirah- 26789] i.e. kits manufactured by production are 28.
2) Total parts available with manufacturing in week 43 are 388 of that particular product.
3) Weekly manufactured parts of this particular product in week 43 are 45.
4) Total manufactured kits of same product in week 43 are 80.
5) Kits available for sales team this week are 308.
6) Sales team got this week orders for 45 units.
7) Sales team shipped 12 units this week.

2) The manufacturing keep give a regular update to sales to keep the customers updated and delivery within lead times.
3) Keep a check on regular men hours put by production engineers and technicians
4) Keep the inventory up to date by timely delivery of raw material by vendors.
5) Keeping a check on which vendor is given how much amount of work in past and which vendor comes frequently in default list in terms of delivery.
6) Keeping a regular check on due date of vendor payments.
7) Sales team can update the ERP module with monthly and quarterly forecast so that production know in advance how much units tentatively needs to be manufactured.

Implementation of ERP module can result in better sink between Manufacturing, Production and Sales team of the company by keeping a check on Available stock, products most manufactured, timely dispatch etc.

Marketing/Sales Management:
As company has fixed clientele and is not doing much in Marketing. As far as sales is apart from getting order the main point of concern are as follows:-
1) Orders
2) Sales Requests
3) Meeting lead times as promised to

They know the importance of having a mix of products. The reason for this is that at certain times in the year some products sell more than others due to changing demands. In summer, for instance, sandals and sunglasses sell more and in winter, boots and sweaters sell more. If a business lacks a mix of products they will suffer losses of profit during these seasonal times and the business may be unable to run continuously. Although Finish Line’s main product choice is shoes, they sell sweatshirts, hats, and other items as well when appropriate. “Shoes generally make up about 70 percent of the business. This varies, though, according to the time of the year. In August, 85 percent of the business might be Fall back-to-school shoes. This drops to 50 percent in December, when it is easier to buy a sweatshirt or baseball cap as a gift” (Case Study Finish Line). Instead, JIT implementation can involve a series of incremental steps, and missteps, before the desired outcome is achieved. In some cases, JIT is less of a conscious design and more of a default position. This paper will examine the role of a company’s resource configuration in leading to the use of JIT manufacturing. The research paper reports on a single case study of a small manufacturer that altered its resource configuration from a producer – consumer relationship separated by a buffer, to a simultaneity constraint.
