Explain the meaning of ‘sequence’ and ‘rate’
The sequence of development is a process where an event is followed one after the other and achieves a level of succession within a series of changes or growth. It is assumed that the guidelines are followed and are the same across the board for all children. These sequences begin at infancy leading to a matured state. This means that you must finish with one area of development before you move onto the next one. For example a child will scoot first, then crawl, then stand up, then a a few steps, then finally walk.
