...HP Photosmart 5510 Series User Manual M. Raquel Medina ENG/221 August 14, 2012 Gregory Bontz Recently purchased, by the writer, was an HP All-in-One printer, scanner, and copier, the HP Photosmart 5510 series. A manual was provided in the boxed package but can also be viewed online at http://h10032.www1.hp.com/ctg/Manual/c02983578.pdf. The manual provides simplicity, clarity, attractiveness, organization and graphical illustrations. It is a well written instructional manual for users of any technical level, although the length of the document is a little too long. According to Don Norman, “People do not want to read manuals — they want to do their activity. Help them get right to work, with minimum reading” (Norman, 2012). At times a reader can become confused and frustrated with a user manual that is too big. Keeping the manual clear and simple is important. Simplicity • Positive: The HP Photosmart 5510 series user manual is made simple because of the shortness in its index. There are only nine major topics that are covered in the manual but these nine are the key points to operating the device. The manual has each topic linked to the page so a simple point and click gets you to the information needed. • Negative: The Technical Information portion of this manual was not easy to follow. Although, technical information is not the easiest to make simple. Clarity • Positive: Clarity is important when reading a user manual because your...

...Hospital LAN Initial Evaluation NIT 362 Explain the network’s fundamental characteristics and components. The Hospital’s Local Area Network (LAN) consists of two distinct network segments: Clinical and Admnistrative networks and are connected via bridge. The Administrative uses an ethernet backbone that is 1000BaseT using CAT 6 cable while the backbone for branches from each department run on 1000BaseF using single-mode fiber. Each clinical area is connected via a bus architecture to the main 1000BaseF backbone (Apollo, 2013). The administrative network’s Executive Management has three different types of workstations and two different types printers all networked on the 1000BaseT Ethernet using a bus architecture. The workstations are for Executive Management, Senior Management in HR, Operations and Finance, and Data entry in HR, Operations and Finance. Workstations for Exeuctive management and Senior Management are iMACs while workstations for data entry are Hewlett-Packard thin clients. The printers are the Hewlett-Packard Model 4350 (black and white laser printers) and Hewlett-Packard Model 4200pht (color laser printsers) (Apollo, 2013). On the clinical side of the network, Apple Mac Pros are used for modality viewing stations, which are each connected to their own DICON digital to film printers (Kodak model 6800) are used in Radiology. The emergency room has a MAC PRO workstation connected to a portable...

...Patton Fuller Hospital NTC/362 January 20, 2014 Patton Fuller Hospital Patton Fuller is a community hospital that has been proudly serving the community since 1975. Patience care is number one, and they thrive to ensure each of their patients experience is as pleasant as possible. Hospitals are under enormous pressure to treat patients in the most effective and efficient way. By leveraging the best IT systems, health organizations provide the type of patient care with the speed and efficiency required by the market. By analyzing Patton Fuller’s IT infrastructure, a determination can be made about the network and the devices supported on it as well. The outcome of the analysis will be used to recommend new technologies in data collection, internal communication, and security. If done correctly, this will link productivity with care thereby improving performance and reducing the cost of operations in the hospital. Network Overview A review of Patton Fuller’s network reveals that the network is set up in a bus topology, which is the oldest topology. All stations are attached via cable taps or connections to a single length of cable—a wire with two open ends that are terminated by a resistor. The single cable is referred to as a trunk, backbone, or segment (Goleniewski, 2007). There are many different departments in the hospital: Administration, Radiology, RIS data center, and OR/ICU. The backbone network structure for the entire hospital is 1000 BaseT with all...

...Answer to the problem no: 01 A. Subdivided bar diagram: These diagrams are used to represent various parts of the total. While construction such a diagram, the various components in each bar should be kept in the same order. subdivided bar diagram should not be used when the number of components more than 10 or 12, in that case the diagram would be overloaded with information which cannot be easily compared and understood. State the use of subdivided bar diagram: 1. A bar diagram is a chart that uses either horizontal or vertical bars to show comparisons among categories. One axis of the chart shows the specific categories being compared, and the other axis represents a discrete value. 2. A bar diagram is very useful for recording discrete data. Bar charts also look a lot like a histogram, which record continuous data. 3. Bar diagram provide a visual presentation of categorical data. Categorical data is a grouping of data into discrete groups, such as months of the year, age group, shoe sizes, and animals. 4. Bar graphs can be used for complex comparisons of data with grouped bar charts and stacked bar charts. B. Represent the following by subdivided bar diagram: Year | Banks | SFCs | STDs | 2003-04 | 233.8 | 365.3 | 283.4 | 2004-05 | 301.8 | 484.7 | 473.8 | 2005-06 | 303.2 | 668.6 | 402.8 | 2006-07 | 365.3 | 992.8 | 536.6 | 2007-08 | 416.4 | 1067.4 | 686.8 | Subdivide bar diagram displaying the distribution of assistance under refinance...

PFCH operates a 600-bed full-service hospital, providing a variety of programs (Apollo Group, 2006, 2010, 2011). PFCH uses several network systems, including wireless technology. Multiple technologies are necessary to be used and combined to create a healthcare network infrastructure. Ideally, each of these technologies should integrate into a cohesive network platform capable of delivering network services that are protected, resilient, responsive, and interactive. It is the interconnection and combination of these technologies that provide value and enable clinical and business capabilities in the healthcare environment. PFCH is interested in examining how their network is performing as compared to similar companies. In-House Data Transmission PFCHs backbone network structure consists of a 1000Base-T and 1000Base-F standards. The 1000Base-T standard supports data transfer rates up to 1000 Mbps, or one gigabyte per second, and is used in the non-clinical areas of the hospital. PFCH is employing a CAT 6 cable infrastructure for these administrative areas. The clinical areas use the 1000Base-F standard, which is also a 1000...
