Itchy eyes and runny noses envelope people including nearby residents and commuters; 3,800 – 12,600 people have developed asthmas as a result3. Conditions such as hypersensitivity pneumonitis (where the alveoli within the lungs cause hypersensitivity to inhaled organic dust)4. Lung abscess containing necrotic debris flood microbial infections. Restrictive lung disease (pneumoconiosis caused by long term exposure to dust); and pulmonary edema (accumulation in the air spaces and parenchyma of the lungs leads to impaired gas exchange of the respiratory cycle)5 restrict workers from having a normal like symptom-free livelihood. It took nearly a year of around the clock worker to remove debris and recover bodies from the destruction. Meanwhile debates were rage on how best to rebuild the World Trade Center and memorialize all the victims in the tragedy. The initial plans called for the rebuild to be completed by 10th anniversary of the attacks. A combination of political struggles, financial problems and legal squabbles among the various parties involved led to repeated delays, and rebuild efforts are still ongoing still today. The Memorial which was schedule to be dedicated at the 10th anniversary was pulled off with success; however the museum is still under construction. Is the memorial just an ordinary public square at the end of a skyscraper, or is it a beautiful place to visit, when wanting to recall and show respect for the victims of 9/11? In august 2006, World Trade Center Memorial Foundation and Port Authority of New York and New Jersey commenced the project September 11 memorial and museum. In 2007 the World Trade Center Memorial Foundation was renamed National September 11 Memorial & Museum. The winner of the World Trade Center Site Memorial Competition was Israeli architect Michael Arad of Handel Architects, who collaborated with Paul Walker. The Memorial park is designed as a forest of trees with two square “reflecting pools” in the center where the Twin Towers stood.
