What a Beautiful Mind First the story begins in Princeton University at September 1947. John Nash and his colleagues are being introduced to the university. After the introduction the students meet outside for formal party in the school. This is where John first meets Martin Hasson his rival during the film. Martin and John both got to Princeton through the same scholarship. John Nash eventually makes it to his dorm room and eventually meets his roommate Charles Herman. John Nash was very passionate on trying to find a dynamic. John Nash was using a lot of time finding equations and Charles his roommate was frustrated on him not breaking the ice and took him drinking up at the roof where they spoke. The next day John Nash was studying how birds reacted and he tries to calculate their behavior. He then runs into Martin which challenges him on a game. Martian wins the game and talks down to John. Later on John was still stuck on trying to have an original Idea (Find Dynamic), Charles told him to go to the bar to eat some pizza and drink some beer. They went to the bar and you see John Nash playing pool. Martian comes to the bar and looks at his friends that’s calling him at the bar. Martians friend told him that this girl wanted Nash. Martian tells Nash and then Nash left to talk to her. He failed completely on trying to pursue her because he told her he just wanted to sleep with her. John Nash later speaks with a professor on finding an original idea he lets the professor know he needs more time. The Professor lets him know that he is not achieving anything. John gets depressed and angry about his in achievement. John Nash in frustration attacks his roommate Charles. Charles tells Nash that the people are the problem not him and throws his desk out the window. John later is working on an original Idea at the bar. Martian, John, and their collogues were sitting at a table when a group of women came in and they all see a beautiful blonde. Martian spoke to the guys about the blonde and says remember Adam Smith the man with modern economics everyone to themselves. John says Adam need revision and explain how everyone should not just lookout for themselves but they should lookout for themselves for the group and starts to form an original idea. John Nash eventually figures out an equation that changes the whole view of modern economics. John Nash and his collogues celebrate at the bar. Martian his rival comes to the bar and has a drink with Nash on his success.

John Nash at 1953 ended up working at the pentagon during the cold war against the Soviet Union. He meets soldiers that inform him on the task he was going to do. The soldiers explained that he was going to decode a certain signal from Moscow. John Nash decoded the transmission and found out it was coordinates in America. He asked the solders what the codes were, but they did not want to reveal to him what the codes meant. He started seeing a man with a hat and called him big brother. The man was secret agent from the pentagon. After he return to Princeton he found out he had to teach a class. There was a woman in the class that caught his attention fixing the problem of construction worker working while class began. He later meets with agent again and he wanted to hire him to be code breaker for the agency. The agent was named William Partier. William takes him to a secret government building and explains how he needs him to be codebreaker to stop the Soviet Union from bombing the United States. They give him an invisible chip so he can decode magazines and leave it for the agency. The women from the classroom comes to his office at Princeton and asks him out to dinner. The woman’s name is Alisha Lennard and John takes her to formal party. He later sees stars with her and points out any shape she wanted and shows what stars create that shape. He later continues on codebreaking the magazines and leaves them in the location William the agents asked him to leave them. John was sitting in the campus when a little girl named Marcy came to talk to him and ends up knowing that Marcy was his roommate’s niece. He starts talking to Charles about his girlfriend and his future.

John Nash eventually ends up marrying Alisha while he is still doing his work for the agency. He was leaving some confidential data at the area when William tells John to get in the car because they were being followed. They ended up being in a shootout but eventually got away. John Nash was traumatized but could not talk to his wife about it because it was top secret. John later gets visited by William and speaks about not being able to do it anymore. William threatens John which made him very paranoid because he was scared Alisha and his future baby were going to get hurt. John still in paranoia ends up seeing Charles and Marcy before he does a presentation on his equation. John sees a couple of men in black suits walking towards and runs with panic. A couple of men start chasing him and psychiatrist named Rosen says he wants to talk to him. John swings at him. John tries to escape but gets restrained and sent to the mental hospital.
Rosen starts talking to him and John tries to escape and sees Charles sitting down. Rosen then says, “There is no one there.” Rosen calls someone and they take him away. Rosen later speaks to Alisha his wife and tells her John has Schizophrenia. Rosen explains that John started hallucinating right when he went to Princeton and he imagine Charles his best friend. Alisha in shock did not believe him because he spoke so highly of Charles. Later Alisha was notified by Rosen that John lived by himself at Princeton and had no roommates. Rosen then explained he was hallucinating William and asked her if she can look at his work. Alisha in anger of the situation goes to his office at Princeton to see what he was working on. John’s colleagues insisted to Alisha that his work was top secret and to stop. Alisha in fury slaps a man and opens the doors to her husband’s office. Alisha sees all the nonsense John was working on. Then the colleagues inform her that Nash would also leave envelopes at an abandon house.
Alisha came to mental institution and talks to John. John starts telling her all the secret. Alisha eventually got frustrated and showed him the envelope and explained that what he was seeing was not real. John leaves with anger and still tries to prove he is telling the truth. John eventually starts getting insulin shots to induce seizures as treatment for his schizophrenia. Alisha speaks with John’s colleagues and was asked how she was doing. She explains how she feels. She says she feels obligated to help and feels guilty of thinking of leaving. They both meet John at her house. John was explaining to his colleague that he was having trouble doing math because of all the medication he was taking.

The story then continues at the bedroom were Alisha was pushing to sleep with John. John pushes her off and Alisha gets frustrated with him. Alisha asks John, “Are the medication the problem.” John, just nods his head in agree meant and Alisha rushes to the bathroom in anger. Alisha drinks some water to calm herself down and then lets it all out in the bathroom. She throws the glass at the mirror, then starts to cry to the frustrations of her life.
John stops taking the medication and regained his hallucinations again. He sees a man running to the woods and John runs to catch him. He finds out that it was William Partier and was surrounded with military pointing at John. John screams out, “You’re not real, You’re not real.” William convinces John Nash that he was real again and continues to work with William, his hallucination. John continues in stopping his medication. John and Alisha were preparing for a storm, so Alisha went to grab thee clothes outside. While John is showering the baby. This is where Alisha finds the shed John started doing work again at and she rushes back to the house for the baby. John was hallucinating again and perceived that Charles was watching the baby when the baby was in the bath. Alisha runs and grabs him before the baby drowns and call Dr. Rosen. John then was being pushed by his hallucination to stop Alisha from calling Dr. Rosen. John then perceived that William was going to attack her and slings to save her put pushes her instead. In panic Alisha runs with baby to get away from John. John then stops her and lets her know he realizes he is hallucinating because Marcy the little girl never ages.
Rosen comes to the house to talk to John again, to put him in the mental institution again. John denies going back and was passionate in being able to control himself. Rosen knew John did not want to go back and gave the responsibility to Alisha. Alisha sends Rosen off and they both try to fight the schizophrenia together.
John Nash two months later goes back to Princeton and speaks with his old rival Martian. John went to ask Martian if he can come and do his work at Princeton. Martian agrees and john starts working at Princeton. John came to the library and started to panic. John creates a huge scene and does not think he can handle it anymore. Alisha comforts John and he continues to fight his Schizophrenia. He starts to ignore his hallucinations and continue on his work.
John Nash was still working by 1978 and starts speaking to a student at Princeton and starts teaching at the library. John later wanted to become a professor and asks Martian for class. Marian lets him know that he would ask the school board and he would teach at spring.
John starts teaching classes at 1994 and was visited by a man named Thomas King. Thomas told John that he was going to be nominated for noble prize. They got get tea to talk about if John was capable to get the noble prize. Thomas was trying to see if john was not going to act up at noble prize. John was passed the pens which is a prestige’s honor for a great achievement. John gets the noble prize and gives a beautiful speech to the audience and his wife.

The film in my opinion was really good for it had many twists and turns through it all. It showed the way schizophrenic people had to deal with certain situation. The way perceived the world was false and anybody would believe what their eyes are showing them. It explained the treatment these people have to go through. The insulin shock and a variety of medication. This film also really illustrated the effects of the family members had on the whole issue. Overall this film was very good.
