Academy scholarship
I have been in the academy for three years now but my family has been in the academy for over decade now. It's sad that my brother and I are going to be the last of my family to be apart of the Teaching Academy.
After graduation I plan to attend Cal State Los Angeles. I plan to use Cal grants and scholarships to pay for the tuition and housing. There I planning to get my Bachelor's and Master's degree in Criminal Justice. After I get both of my degree, I will apply to the FBI, If accepted (which I will be) I will go to Quantico, Virginia for a 3 month long training session. At school many of my peers look up to me for help or guidance through an assignment or task. I'm always the one they look up too for help. Out of school I'm in charge of showing the new workers how to work the machines and operate on the vehicles at my aunt's tire shop. I always make sure that the workers understand how the machines works and how to operate, I am patient with them and try help them when they are struggling. That was the way I was taught by my co-worker jaquin and that's i'm gonna treat the newbies. I also take responsibility for a mistake that one of the new workers in training did because they are under my supervision and it's my responsibility they do the things right.
Three things that I will take from my experience from the teaching academy that will benifit me in life is
I am a good candidate for this scholarship because I'm a hard working, responsible, dedicated student who's in need of the financial help. I never cause or give the teachers any problems, I have excellent grades and attendance, I already have my life planned out for after graduation, I am going to attended a four year university which is not cheap. I am also in need of financial aid because a bachelor's and master's degree aren't cheap. I feel that i'm the best candidate for this scholarship and that it will greatly benefit

Ultimately, though, she concludes that it is not the student’s responsibility alone to resist relegation but also educators as well, who need to address and seek to resolve the conditions that produce “basic writers” even before their arrival at the university, and this, according to the author, will produce an awareness and restructuring of white privilege in determining academic success. Scholarship Essay On Becoming A Veterinarian To An Artist

...Scholarship Essay Since I was little I had a big imagination. I went from wanting to be a veterinarian to an artist. I knew I could do anything as long as I had determination and a plan to get there. As a 17 year-old senior, my imagination is still as big as it was when I was little. I might not have the funds to support my imagination but I will get there. I am going to college no matter what my circumstances are. I know once I step across that stage in a couple of months; I will also be stepping into the real world. I have to grow up and make choices that will contribute to everything that I want to do in life. My mother, my father, nor any of my siblings ever made it to college, so going to college is a big deal to me. Everyone who I know would be proud of me. So while everyone else was just trying to coast through High School I was hitting the books, doing internship for my pharmacy tech class, and working a part time job; because my one and only goal was college. I knew I could always amount to something if I had the education and education is the...

Personal Narrative: My Legacy

...Legacy Scholarship Essay My time at the schools of McKeel Academy overall was a pleasant experience since I was actually enabled to learn and do so with relative ease. However, a certain issue that I ran into at a young age could have changed my experience drastically. When I was in third grade, I began to develop excruciatingly painful headaches that resulted in me going home from school early on many occasions. While my teacher recommended me to a neurologist, my mother decided to take me to an ophthalmologist instead. After several examinations, it was concluded that I had what was called convergence insufficiency, which means that if I read too much at one time that I would begin to have severe headaches. Due to this condition,...

...Academy of Management Learning & Education, 2005, Vol. 4, No. 1, 75–91. ........................................................................................................................................................................ Bad Management Theories Are Destroying Good Management Practices SUMANTRA GHOSHAL Advanced Institute of Management Research (AIM), UK and London Business School The corporate scandals in the United States have stimulated a frenzy of activities in business schools around the world. Deans are extolling how much their curricula focus on business ethics. New courses are being developed on corporate social responsibility. Old, highly laudatory cases on Enron and Tyco are being hurriedly rewritten. “What more must we do?”, the faculty are asking themselves in grave seminars and over lunch tables (Bartunek, 2002). Business schools do not need to do a great deal more to help prevent future Enrons; they need only to stop doing a lot they currently do. They do not need to create new courses; they need to simply stop teaching some old ones. But, before doing any of this, we—as business school faculty—need to own up to our own role in creating Enrons. Our theories and ideas have done much to strengthen the management practices that we are all now so loudly condemning. vested interests, which are dangerous for good or evil” Keynes (1953: 306). This is precisely what has happened to management. Obsessed as they are with the “real world” and sceptical...

The 10 000 Hours Rule By Malcolm Gladwell Analysis

...Compare/Contrast Essay: Malcolm Gladwell - “The 10,000 Hour Rule” Have you ever thought about what makes someone better than you? Is it innate talent, or is it thousands of hours of practice. Malcolm Gladwell argues that know one is just born innately gifted and through the years becomes better than everyone without practice, a lot of it. I agree with Gladwell on the point that “Achievement is talent plus preparation” (60). This is the point of view adopted by Malcolm Gladwell in his essay “The 10,000 Hour Rule” from Outliers: The Story of Success, published in 2008. However, Gladwell and I differ on his point of view about when you need to have reached your 10,000 hours. One area where Gladwell and I agree is that “Achievement is talent...

...Nichole Thurman English 101 Ms. Floyd April 24, 2014 Inequality of Education in Baltimore City Schools There has been long ongoing debate of the levels of education when comparing public and private education institutions. Some argue that public education is for the poor and is not the most effective form of education when it comes to personal development. Baltimore City public schools has a high level of educational inequality when compared to private schools and it shows in their dropout rate, the poor preparation for college, and additional other factors outside of the schools that impact the educational development of the students. With education being the most vital part of a child’s development, one would believe there would be microscopic monitoring in this area of our city. We have shifted the focus from schools widely in the Baltimore City area and cut a lot of programs that helped develop and prepare kids for life. It is amazing that Baltimore has found funding to open two new casinos in downtown Baltimore City but has not added any more funding to the Baltimore City educational department. Our City leaders have raised taxes in the Baltimore City to all-time highs and it has made it harder for families to support a higher level of education for their children with after care programs as well as enrolling them into different schools. Also, one must consider the factor of kids just giving up because there has not been a strong focus on education within Baltimore...

Oprah

...Oprah: A Modern Day Hero Raul Garcia COM150 Effective Essay Writing Lori Pommerenke University of Phoenix In today’s day and age, the word hero can have many definitions and interpretations. It is common to infer that a hero is a mythological creature or a fictional character with supernatural abilities and powers; but the word hero conceals a deeper meaning for today’s philanthropists and humanitarians. A perfect example of today’s hero would be Oprah Winfrey; a warrior that struggled against a horrific life but still managed to climb the tiers of success until reaching the highest pinnacle possible. “Hero” to many might sound like a word only used in sci-fi movies, but a real-life hero promotes peace, encourages education and success, and gives back to the world. After struggling against adversity in childhood, Oprah Winfrey now demonstrates a philanthropic lifestyle that sparks attention and admiration around the world. Oprah Winfrey was born in Kosciusko, Mississippi on January 29, 1954. She was born into poverty to a mother who worked as a housekeeper and a father who was never at home. Even though she...

Overview This short paper seeks to provide the American members of the bilateral Higher Education Task Force with an opinionated analysis of the crisis in Vietnamese higher education. We begin by analyzing the magnitude of the crisis and its root causes. Next, we consider how key actors—the Vietnamese government, the Vietnamese people, and the international community—are responding to the situation. We conclude by stressing the importance of institutional innovation as a necessary component of an effective reform platform. A short essay on Vietnamese higher education and science by a prominent Vietnamese scientist is included as reference in an appendix. This memorandum is informed by Harvard’s experience building and operating the Fulbright Economics Teaching Program, a center of public policy teaching and research located in Ho Chi Minh City.1 At present the Ash Institute is a partner in a research project lead by The New School that is studying the institutional barriers to higher education reform in Vietnam. II. Dimensions of the Crisis It is difficult to overstate the seriousness of the challenges confronting Vietnam in higher education. We believe without urgent and fundamental reform to the higher education system, Vietnam will fail to achieve its enormous...

Business Law

...1.0 Introduction: Law: Laws are present in this world for solely one reason that is to keep order and protect the people from harm ways. Each and every step that we take in the outside world is somehow governed by law For Example, purchasing a new apartment or starting a new business. Contract Law: it can be stated as “the body of law that administrates oral and written agreements associated with exchange of goods, money and property.’’ A contract law includes certain other aspects such as the nature of contract, contracts limits, freedom of contract and ending period of contract. Contract law is an agreement between individuals and is upheld by law and penalties are enforced if the contract is void or tempered with once the agreement has been signed. The reason contract law exists is to form a mutual understanding between the parties who are involved to avoid future problems and changes by either property without both ends agreement. Without contract law, all the agreements established between the parties will become impractical and meaningless and both sides would try to change the agreements along the way making it harder and difficult for them to execute their plans properly. UK Law: The United Kingdom’s constitution is in unwritten form. Body of UK law is purely based on statue, traditional rights and common law. Alteration comes about as time changes due to modified parliament acts. Some of the Malaysian laws are from the English law act. Common law and equity...
