In the modern world people operate their businesses and practically live their lives through the Internet, the use of social media, and easily obtainable information. Although easy access to nearly everything and everyone has many advantages, there are plenty disadvantages that accompany social media and easily obtainable information. If the world only knew how becoming aware of the rewards and drawbacks of social media and the ability to access information with ease people may change how they practice and consume it, especially when understanding the need to further question the reliability of their sources. It is important to understand the advantages, disadvantages, and knowledge of use pertaining to easily obtainable information and social media and the integrity of a source. Access to easily obtainable information has many advantages. Most people have a cell phone these days that can access the Internet nearly everywhere allowing them to consume almost whatever media they wish and whenever they want it. Enriquez, Wagner, and Marsh (2012) conclude that Sacramento County’s Environmental Management Department has a new application compatible with the IPhone and Android that allows users to view the health inspection scores of more than 5000 restaurants. People can have cell phone apps that range from locating places to eat and gas stations to counting how many steps a person takes each day. Also numerous search engines exist to help people find what they are searching for. For example, if someone wanted to know how to cook a pumpkin roll for Thanksgiving he or she would go to a search engine, such as Google, and request that recipe.
