Marriage Expiration A women’s party-list group “Isa – Ako Babaeng Astig Aasenso.” Or 1-ABAA participating in the 2010 elections in congress a measure requiring couples to renew their marriage after 10 years, or else their marriage would be null and void.
Since we don’t have divorce and annulment it takes time and lots of money, It would help cut down the number of annulment cases that have piled up in court. It would be the way to escape if you’re already not happy in your relationship. But people might take advantage of it, this bill would just give them the chance to remarry countless times for lust and illegitimate children would rise. It is pushing away the possibility of enjoying a strong marriage bond, and keeping an alarm clock that should tell it’s time to separate ways. I disagree with this bill, aside from the Philippines is a Christian country; the family is the basic unit of society. If this will happen, gone are the days when the marriage vows “Till death do us part.” would be taken seriously and the vow will be “Till renewal do us part.“ The essence of why they are getting marriage in the first place will vanish and I don’t think it would be really fair to any children involved. Breaking a family is also breaking the society. It may also leave a big impact to their children; it would affect them mentally, emotionally, and physically.
Marriage is a sacred union and it should be taken seriously. When you marry a person, you are entering into a life contract with them. The couple is obliged to strengthen the bond of their relationship to last longer. Each should be faithful and understanding. Problems may pass through your relationship but separation and escaping is never the answer to solve them, Happiness is a risk, be careful of choosing what really makes you happy to prevent regrets.
