I’m pretty certain that this piece is a relief of Akhenaten and Neferiti from the New Kingdom’s Armana period. I came to this conclusion due to the following reasons: 1) Akhenaten exhibits the elongated neck and long head with spindly arms and legs just like he’s presented in Akhenaten and His Family. Portraying his image this way breaks the traditional Egyptian mold of what they deemed the ‘ideal image’. 2) Neferiti is a prominent feature in this piece, as well as other pieces of this period. While slightly smaller than Akhenaten, she is highlighting her position in society through the hierarchy of scale.
