Amelia Mary Earhart was the first female pilot to fly solo across the Atlantic Ocean. Amelia was born on July 24, 1897 in Atchison Kansas, United States. She studies in Columbia University. Earhart received many awards for not only flying purposes, but also for writing many best-selling books about her flying experiences. She was declared dead January 5, 1939. The story of her death has not been prove and because of this many theories have emerged about her. Most people believe that on July 2nd, 1937 Amelia was in flight over the Pacific Ocean but did not reach her destination. She disappeared.
