An Essential Muir by John Muir starts out in the introduction with some information on John and what he has accomplished. I find the introduction interesting because it gives us small facts like the fact that he was 76 when he died which I figured out by looking at his lifespan which begins in 1838 and ends in 1934. I also found out something which is curious he did not like to write which considering what I have read so far I believe he does have a talent for writing beautifully.
In part one, The Visionary Inventor starting on page three with John as a young boy living under his father's roof.He works very hard on the farm which includes damming up the river with lumber he has cut from the sawmill. His father is very religious and disapproves
