The book A Break with Charity, is about the Salem Witch trials and the main character, Susanna English. How she has to decide if she should keep the ‘afflicted’ girls secret to herself and them or if she should ‘break with charity’. Mainly the purpose of the book is to inform others of what had happened during those grim years in Salem, MA. And how in one year it had took about 25 people’s lives. How it all started with the seven girls who wanted some mischief and attention. In the beginning of the book it was really slow, it had been fairly disinteresting.
