This last image of her has earned her the nickname of Anna Dressed in Blood, and anyone who has ever stepped foot in her old house has never stepped out. When Cas hears about her, he knows he has to stop her. He just didn’t expect he’d have to deal with an annoying, geeky Seer, the homecoming queen, an old haunt, and the bodies of one or two dead football jocks to do it. If you’re looking for something to give you nightmares this Halloween, you should definitely check this book out. I’ll admit, when I first got this book I honestly thought it’d be one of those irritating stories that 1) had a romance that was so ridiculous it made me want to puke, and 2) had ghosts that were about as believable and terrifying as a little kid with a sheet over his head. I was wrong. Kendare Blake has managed to write a novel with just enough supernatural and gore to keep readers on the edge of their seats without sending them into a paranoid I’m-never-going-to-sleep-again-ever-in-my-entire-life state of panic. Her characters are interesting and realistic, with secrets and complicated emotions just like us regular, not-ghost-obsessed human beings. The plot moved at a pace fast enough to keep me turning the page but not too fast that I had to reread the entire chapter because I had no idea what the heck just
