“We didn’t have birthday parties we didn’t have places that we went out to wow that sucks.” This was the shocking response I got from an affectionate mother in Sinking Spring PA when asked about the struggles she faced in the past. Her name is Ashalisett Aroche. She had many struggles in her life because she was poor when she was younger and her kids father went to jail. She has just had a very rough life overall. Asha was born and raised in Brooklyn, New York. She grew up poor and had a rough life. She left home at a young age and started working at 12. Some struggles she faced growing up were thet she grew up kind of poor so she started working at an early age because there were nine of them in a two bedroom apartment and her stepfather wasn’t really around so it was just really her mom just kind of paying for everything and Elias her brother kind of helping her out and so she had to grow up really quick. I didn’t really have much of a childhood.
Asha is most proud of her children. She’s proud of just raising her kids as a single mom. “I don’t think I’m perfect, but I think I’ve done a good job” she responded when asked what she was proud of. Though as an adult she admires one of her bosses Deb Miller just because she was a true leader. Asha would love to follow in her footsteps, work wise, as a good mom, a good wife, just in life in general. Other than her boss she doesn't really know because she didn’t really have much people to follow. “I’m not saying that my mom was a bad mom it’s just she struggled to try and get by and do things the best that she could.” So she really didn’t have someone that you would say to look up
