...Anna Current Mrs. Nelson 1st Honors 9th Lit Oct 23rd, 2015 Don’t Assume Anything The Tragedy of Romeo and Juliet Research Paper “The world is such a scary place. Sometimes it seems like it's nothing but anger. And violence. And hurt. It can be terrifying when you're out there in it. But if you know where to look for it... the world also has warmth. And love. And forgiveness. The world has joy in it. When you find a place that allows you to experience that joy, when you find people that make you feel safe and loved, like you belong... you don't walk away from it. You fight for it.”( Espenson). In The Tragedy of Romeo and Juliet by William Shakespeare a lot of violent and scary things happen, but the characters somehow find a way, in the midst of the chaos, to find that happiness. Shakespeare focuses on the power of love to capture the attention of his audience. This love leads to things all throughout the play to come across as much different than suspected and end up defying stereotypes. Shakespeare uses characterization, visual motifs and dialogue to convey this theme that things aren’t always what they seem. The first way that Shakespeare conveys this theme to his audience is through showing the thoughts on marriage from Capulet and Lady Capulet. Capulet says “And too soon marred are those so early made. / Earth hath swallowed all my hopes but she; / She is the hopeful lady of my earth. / But woo her, gentle Paris, get her heart, / My will to her consent is but a part...

...Naturally, family is made up of mother, father, and children. Children are supposed to be raised by both parents, and we all accept that father and mother have vital roles in upbringing their children into potential and useful people to contribute to social development. However, it is quite challenging if we want to compare whether mother or father is more important. What if mother is more important, is she has to assume more responsibility, or what if father is, ought he to assume more? On my point of view, in no account should parents assume unequal responsibility due to children development sake, the difficulty of raising children, and family happiness. Whether or not children are nurtured with equal responsibility from mother and father has effect on children's development throughout their lives. With both cares, children get full experience of live from both mother and father because what father can give to children is different from that of the mother, but it doesn't mean one is less important than the other. Mother can teach children how to cook, how to sew, or how to deal with household chore while father can teach them how to fish, to be strong, or to protect oneself from any danger. And some circumstances children need advice from father and other circumstances, only mother is more suitable to give advice. On top of that it is also known that with both parents care, children benefit in their braveness. Children will feel confident around the house, at school, or elsewhere...

...“Single-parent families are families with children under the age of 18 headed by a parent who is widowed or divorced and not remarried, or by a parent who has never married. (answers.com/single parent families). Both parents should be held responsible in raising and caring for their child. Each year there are 4,130,665 children born in the United States. (http://www.cdc.gov/nchs/fastats/births.html) Of these children, one in four will be products of single parent homes whether it is being raised by the mother or the father. According to the U.S. Census Bureau as of November, 2009, there are approximately 13.7 million single parents in the United States, and those parents are responsible for raising 21.8 million children. That was years ago so the numbers have increased since then. These results do show however that these people that have found themselves as single parents did start out in committed relationships and had no intentions of raising their child or children alone. (Single Parent Statistics By Jennifer Wolf). The position that I take regarding this topic is that both parents should be held responsible for taking care of their child. Once paternity has been established then it is the lifelong job of each parent to provide for their child not only financially but as a support of some sort. The parent’s actions should be in the best interest of the child or children whether they decide to be together or raise the child separately. There are different views...

...Is it true that both parents from a family should bare an equal responsibility in order to take care of their own children? I think it’s essential to raises up a child by providing them love and care from both sides of parents because as we grow up, our parents have already taken two really important roles to teach us many life lessons but also to nurture us by his or her life-long experiences. However I think due to gender differences, both parents may have different views and roles when they’re teaching the children. More importantly, if both of them assume equal responsibility in raising a child then the child may live in a family that surrounded by warmest love but at the same time the possibility of family breakdown or separation will be prevented and the child may have a positive attitude on choosing the right path in their upcoming futures, too. Throughout the childhoods of children, what are some major roles of both parents and why is it so important to share balance responsibilities in order to raise a child? To answer this question, we need to notice that in an economic perspective, nowadays in the society of Hong Kong, fathers still pretend a really major role in order to work outside and earn money to support the needs of the family, especially the tuition fees of children. But also due to this reason, fathers in a family who act as a breadwinner will always have less time to stay at home in order to communicate with their children properly and also to play with...

...hen children are born they are ultimately raised with two parents, a mother and a father. My mother raised me and my sister alone with the help of no one else, my dad just wasn't there. I feel like children that are raised without one of the parents tend to be lacking something when they are little or even more as they grow up. As a child I would see my friends with their fathers and I would say why don't I have one of those. Always questioning why I only have a mother and not a father. Parents should both assume responsibilities in raising a child under whatever circumstances. At least be there for your child if you can’t do anything else. How I feel is you made this child and basically abandoning your child is showing how much you really do not have a care in the world for your child. Sometimes it is necessary but if your life is completely fine and you just feel that you don’t need to be there for your kid then thats not assuming a responsibility that you’ve created. I’m not saying that criminals should be allowed to be around children, but under some circumstances you should always take care of your responsibilities. Women typically don't need a male companion to raise a boy into a strong man because they always seem to make it happen, but it helps a whole lot. A strong man is not about being physically fit. It is a man who can operate as an independent individual in the adult world. Dominance is not the fundamental of a relationship; love is. If either companion cannot...

...The one thing that every eighteen year old student in Malaysia fears the most besides the S.P.M. exams is National service. A number of students are chosen from every school in every state in Malaysia to go for National service training. Out of all the students chosen only a few will be excited to go for this training. The rest will be too lazy or just too scared to go for the training. I was chosen and like the rest at first I felt like it was a waste of time especially since I had to go for the second batch. I tried to come up with as many excuses not to go but my parents said that I had to go. So the time came after six months off waiting after getting the message that was sure to be the death of me. So after months of waiting the day finally came where I had to board the bus to Damai, Johor. Well to tell you the truth I was a little excited that I was about to go on a kind of adventure that would may or may not change my life. When the bus left the station I was a little worried about living my family behind. But that all changed when we hit the highway. There were hills that were filled with so much greenery that it was so hard to believe. Being a city kid the only jungle I see every day was the concrete jungle. The guys and girls who were on the same bus with me were singing and cracking jokes on the bus. After five hours of travelling, we arrive at the camp and training center. As we entered, I felt like a part of me had died. The campsite was like a war zone. The...

...A child’s health and well-being are important and also contribute to a healthy, productive adolescence and adulthood. Parents can play an important role in helping their children use or strengthen behaviors, skills, attitudes, and motivation that promote their physical and mental health and overall well being in childhood, adolescence and well into their adulthood. (McBride, 1998) As you grow up, you are taught many life lessons from your experienced parents. Your parents' duty is to nurture you, so that you can grow up to become a person who is strong and able to support yourself. (Allen, 2013) Parents must realize that when it comes to raising a child, they both must put in an equal amount of effort so that the child learns new things, prevents family breakdowns or arguments and prevents the child from straying off the 'right' path as they say. It is a typical situation where the father is the one who is assumed as not being apart of raising their child. The first reason why both parents, a father and mother, should have equal opportunities to raise their children is that the father, by his masculinity nature, will be better to give his child the sense of braveness and teach them to defend themselves against anyone who could hurt them in their environment. By the father involving himself in this way in his child’s life would certainly increase the method of analyzing any trouble they could possibly find themselves being involved in in the future and enhance and...

...Both parents should assume equal responsibility in raising children. Marriage is a new stage in the life of each one which is based on sharing everything in the couple’s life. It is a company but in a different concept from the business point of view. Every decision, step, or event happens in the house should be informed to each participant in this house. Normally, it becomes commonly shared between people that mothers are the first school from which children can form their manners and behaviors. However, fathers can teach their children better to be responsible and brave, teach them to be wise in taking decisions, and help the child to have a peaceful environment in the house. For the previous reasons, fathers should have equal importance in teaching their children many aspects of life mothers cannot provide during raising up her child. The first reason why both fathers and mother should have equal opportunities to raise their children is that father, by his masculinity nature, will be better to give his child the sense of braveness and teach him to defend himself against anyone who could hurt him in his environment. For playing out similar situations in the house with his child, would certainly increase the child’s method of analyzing any trouble he could be involved in the future and enhance his self-confidence and sense of responsibility. Even though I agree that mother should give her son/daughter a sense of tenderness to keep the children lean when they deal with people...

...Hi Clinton, After last week, I decided to look for myself more in depth in the Bible about the Trinity, and all though some will not agree how I interpret it, this is how I feel it means. I have read in many places in the bible that mentions the trinity and I still interpret it that Jesus is the son Of God and the Holy Spirit is His spirit among us. In Mark 1:10,11 says, And when Jesus came up out of the water, He saw the heavens split open and the Holy Spirit descending like a dove on him. 11: And a voice came from heaven saying, “You are my beloved Son, and I am fully pleased with you.” The voice from Heaven proclaimed the father’s approval of Jesus as his divine Son. I also think about what the Bible says about man and wife, that when they are married they become one. We do not literally become one person. No matter how many times I read about the trinity or any part that mentions it, I still interpret it as the father, the son and the Holy Spirit. Jesus is God’s son so in my eyes when it says God in the flesh it is because he is his son, His flesh and blood and the Spirit is His Holy Spirit among us. I may be wrong, but there are things God said we would not know or understand until we entered his Kingdom. However, what I do know for a fact, is God the father, Jesus the Son and the Holy Spirit are real and how I view the world and treat others is based on what they have taught through Spiritual Guidance, through the Bible and those chosen by God to teach his...

Assume that the house has a maximum of four rooms, and that each room is rectangular. 1) Problem analysis This Program is intended to compute the area of a house composed of four rectangular rooms. Indeed, for this problem, we need to output the value of the total area of the house after finding and summing the areas of each room. For this to be possible, we will define output and input variables. Therefore, for this program, we will need to output the value of the following variable: * The value of the area of the house total_area (a Float variable) We will also need to input the value of the length and width of each room, subsequently the following variables: * The value of the length of the first room length1 (a Float variable) * The value of the width of the first room width1 (a Float variable) * The value of the length of the second room length2 (a Float variable) * The value of the width of the second room width2 (a Float variable) * The value of the length of the third room length3 (a Float variable) * The value of the width of the third room width3 (a Float variable) * The value of the length of the fourth room length4 (a Float variable) * The value of the width of the fourth room...

He was grappling with whether to accept the global sales and marketing team manager position. Khan spent the entire day with the senior leadership of the team trying to understand the group’s challenges. However, the meeting had raised more questions than answers. Already a rising star within his company, Khan was only 33 when he was offered this high-profile position to lead a diverse 68-person team whose members hailed from 27 countries and spoke 18 different languages. The team’s recent performance had seen a precipitous decline, resulting in the previously well-regarded manager departing the company in a state of disrepute. Employee satisfaction also plunged by more than half its peak nearly two years prior. Should Khan accept the position, he would be expected to reverse the performance lag in less than two years, achieving substantial sales growth and increasing market share. However, should he fail to resurrect the team in the allotted timeframe, his status as a high-potential would be jeopardized. Khan hoped that meetings with both the senior executives and the outgoing manager would help him decide whether or not to take the position. The meetings thus far had been exhausting, but revealing. Khan had a greater understanding of the group, but still had...
