...CARLESON POTENTIALS AND THE REPRODUCING KERNEL THESIS FOR EMBEDDING THEOREMS STEFANIE PETERMICHL 1 , SERGEI TREIL 2 , AND BRETT D. WICK 3 Abstract. In this note we present a new proof of the Carleson Embedding Theorem on the unit disc and unit ball in C n The only technical tool used in the proof of this fact is Green’s formula. The . starting point is that every Carleson measure gives rise to a bounded sub-harmonic function. Using this function we construct a new related Carleson measure that allows for a simple embedding. In the case of the disc D this gives the best known constant, with the previous best given by N. Nikolskii. 0. Introduction The famous Carleson Embedding Theorem for the unit disc states, in particular, that the embedding of the Hardy space H2 into a space L 2 (µ) can be checked on reproducing kernels of the Hardy space. Namely, it can be stated as follows: Theorem 0.1 (Carleson Embedding Theorem). Let µ be a non-negative measure in D. Then the following are equivalent: (i) The Hardy space H2 (D) is embedded in L 2 (µ), i.e. Z D |f(z)| 2 dµ(z) ≤ A 2 kfk 2 H2 (D) ∀f ∈ H2 (D). (ii) C(µ) 2 := sup z∈D kkzk 2 L2 (µ) = sup z∈D kPzkL1 (µ) < ∞, where kz(ξ) = (1−|z| 2 ( 1/2 1−ξz , is the normalized reproducing kernel for the Hardy space H2 (D). (iii) I(µ) := sup 1 r µ(D ∩ Q(ξ,...

...Simplicio and Sagredo that the argument “proving” the Aristotelian view contains circular logic and is ultimately unsound. He goes on to prove that it is a paralogism by stating that the conclusion of the statement is unknown. The middle term however, is based off of the soundness of the conclusion. If the fact that the earth is static is based upon the fact that the ball falls in a straight line and vice versa, that the ball falls in a straight line because the earth is static, then neither point can be accepted as a satisfactory aspect of a valid argument. Because the truth of the two terms of the premise is based solely on the validity of the other, neither is valid. In this way, Salviati rejects the auxiliary hypothesis of the heavy bodies...

...sure to examine the following questions and provide examples to support each response: * Does each topic sentence directly address the thesis as well as state the topic? * Does each paragraph have an effective closing that reinforces the main point? * Is the essay coherent? Does it flow from beginning to end? * Is the order of the support logical and effective? * Does the essay provide strong evidence to support any opinions? * Does the essay reflect on the evidence and explain its importance? * Does the essay use strong transitions between sentences and between paragraphs? When it comes to revising your essay there are key questions that you want to ask yourself and make sure that they are answered. You want to make sure that the topic sentence of each paragraph addresses your thesis statement; such as different types of weight loss methods, each paragraphs’ topic sentence should be a different method. You want to make sure that each paragraph has an effective closing statement that reinforces that main point of the essay; like saying that a specific method will help to contribute to the weight loss. When writing an essay you want to make sure that you grab your readers’ attention and keep it throughout the entire paper. You do not want to talk about how a banana is yellow, then say how high the ball can bounce, then back to describing the banana for example. To keep your readers’ attention it is important to make sure you keep your details...

...Nature of the Thesis Issue Libraries in urban environments are surrounded by multiple distractions. Windows with unappealing views or another building right outside, loud indistinct noises and no color or plant life hinder reader’s imaginations. The issue is the emotional transition from the street to the library is not present, and the role of libraries being centered around books is outdated. These effects cause the fort of books to have a cold, unwelcoming presence with other suffering elements. There is no doubt to the statement, “a key to a child’s future is reading.” Another arising question is how to make a place of quiet and control, playful and free? Eighty-four percent of parents surveyed in the Pew Research Study want their children to have access to libraries to help inculcate their children’s love of reading books. Seven in ten parents agree providing free events and activities, such as classes and cultural events for people of all ages or job resources is very important. The resolution to this comment is placing a garden to ease the transition from street to book haven and creating a social space which could be used to accommodate these activities. In addition, three quarters of the parents agreed a library should have quiet reading and study spaces. Almost every parent, ninety-seven percent within the study, said it is important for libraries to offer programs and classes for children and teens. Parents suggested, completely separate locations or spaces for different...

...Franck Dalembert 12/18/12 A3 Sports management Research paper outline Money Ball Argument Introduction What I am going to talk about is the differences between yes and no’s of the statistic system used in the movie the money ball and argue on both sides why it was good and also the bad side to using the system and how are the tactics for it to work. Basically its to see if the system is good to use for analyzing people and see if it’s a good way to build a team around it with a computer and making the team better. Thesis Statement The main argument im trying to point out is if the statistic system would work or not because it has been done before in reality and has worked so the way to look at both sides is to look from both points of views just to see how things are from both points of views on how the system doesn’t work and also how it does work, and then state your opinion on why it does or doesn’t work and explain. 1st Major Point I believe that the system does work because since it was used before to help develop a team by Billie Beane to make the Oakland A’s, a really good team because they calculated all the things they would need to get runs batted in to get people on base from the statistic system from a computer and Billies helper the one who made it possible to use it in a technological way which obviously seemed to work. So the system became so successful that the A’s went on a 20 game win streak until they got to the playoffs. 2nd Major Point I disagree...

...mother's family had more than two kids. Another example of conflict is Peter, brother of Ender, is very jealous and proud because he also wanted to be a military leader. The father of Ender strongly disagrees with Colonel Graff in furious balls of rage. This situation carried unusual feelings towards Enders choice of going to military school, also known as boot camp. Just as Ender was departing, the unusual amount of balling emotions that came out of each family member was incredible due to the fact that orignally none of them knew what to expect when he was actually leaving. In the book, there are some quotes that support the families emotions. One of the quotes are, "Fathers voice was trembling as he spoke. It is not very kind of you, to let us think you did not want him and then to take him after all." Another quote in the book states,"I love you Andrew! Mother called." Thirdly, Peter says, "Kill some buggers for me!" Last but not least, the narrator says, "He heard Valentines anguished cry, come back to me! I love you forever." These quotes support my thesis because each one relates to my supporting point about Ender not having a good relationship coresponding to the government and his parents. One of the reason why it supports my thesis statement is because when the mother, Peter and Valentine speak in the quotes, they showed sadness as well as an unusual amount of reactions. In conclusion, this paragraph proves that Ender does not have cooperation and a strong bond with...

...How To Write a Thesis Statement What is a Thesis Statement? Almost all of us—even if we don’t do it consciously—look early in an essay for a one- or two-sentence condensation of the argument or analysis that is to follow. We refer to that condensation as a thesis statement. Why Should Your Essay Contain a Thesis Statement? to test your ideas by distilling them into a sentence or two to better organize and develop your argument to provide your reader with a “guide” to your argument In general, your thesis statement will accomplish these goals if you think of the thesis as the answer to the question your paper explores. How Can You Write a Good Thesis Statement? Here are some helpful hints to get you started. You can either scroll down or select a link to a specific topic. How to Generate a Thesis Statement if the Topic is Assigned How to Generate a Thesis Statement if the Topic is not Assigned How to Tell a Strong Thesis Statement from a Weak One How to Generate a Thesis Statement if the Topic is Assigned Almost all assignments, no matter how complicated, can be reduced to a single question. Your first step, then, is to distill the assignment into a specific question. For example, if your assignment is, “Write a report to the local school board explaining the potential benefits of using computers in a fourth-grade class,” turn the request into a question like, “What are the potential benefits of using computers in a fourth-grade class?” After you’ve chosen the...

...HOW TO WRITE A LITERARY ANALYSIS ESSAY The purpose of a literary analysis essay is to carefully examine and sometimes evaluate a work of literature or an aspect of a work of literature. As with any analysis, this requires you to break the subject down into its component parts. Examining the different elements of a piece of literature is not an end in itself but rather a process to help you better appreciate and understand the work of literature as a whole. For instance, an analysis of a poem might deal with the different types of images in a poem or with the relationship between the form and content of the work. If you were to analyze (discuss and explain) a play, you might analyze the relationship between a subplot and the main plot, or you might analyze the character flaw of the tragic hero by tracing how it is revealed through the acts of the play. Analyzing a short story might include identifying a particular theme (like the difficulty of making the transition from adolescence to adulthood) and showing how the writer suggests that theme through the point of view from which the story is told; or you might also explain how the main character‟s attitude toward women is revealed through his dialogue and/or actions. REMEMBER: Writing is the sharpened, focused expression of thought and study. As you develop your writing skills, you will also improve your perceptions and increase your critical abilities. Writing ultimately boils down to the development of an idea....

...Nothings better than food straight from the garden is this a true statement or an exaggerated statement; this paper will look at where in the community if anywhere a garden such as this would and could exist. We will explore the pros and cons of such a topic. Community gardens have been around for hundreds of years, they were first thought of to provide relief to families of poverty and low income; they were quite often incorporated into vacant lots and land. They were created not only for production of food but also morale and skill based learning. They provide not only an area to rest and re cooperate but also a teaching area. (Hampton, 2005) When these gardens were first thought of it was discovered that very few people knew how to garden. Training was provided to help these people complete their task. The trend of creating a community or private based garden for teaching and learning continues to this day. (Hampton, 2005) As we know in this new century many families live in or near major city however on of the things that lacks there are a number of positives also a number of unfortunate negatives towards having a community garden; there are far too many on both the positive and negative sides to list but the main areas to focus on would firstly be the positive. Some positives to a community garden are as follows: • There is a decreased amount of chemicals and pesticides used in home grown gardens than the industrial mass produced, • By having a community...

...Critique of “Cinderella and Princess Culture” In Peggy Orenstein’s article, “Cinderella and Princess Culture”, she emphasizes the thought that every little girl does not have to be a princess or like the “trends” that society has titled as “girly.” Orenstein states that little girls often do not get a choice in what they like because society has created the princess trend. She does not like the fact that playing princess can cause young girls to feel pressured to be perfect. Orenstein writes about her own experience with her daughter, asserting that girls should be given a free choice in what they like and dislike, but does not recognize that she is limiting her own daughter’s choices by closing off the idea that she might actually want to be a princess. Orenstein’s article, though effective, does not provide a clear stance on where she stands with the princess debate. She switches back and forth...
