With 7 songs written in late 2012, the band started writing and recording demos for various months. Despite, guitarist Keith Wallen leaving Adelitas Way in May of 2013 his departure did not stop the band from making their long anticipated release. The band’s original plan for Stuck was to release a total of 12 songs, 11 in your face songs and one song with a pop vibe a song called “Drive”. Pre-Production for the new record started on July 31st, 2013 with Nick Raskulenicz revealed as the producer. The band started recording in early September at a cabin in Rock Falcon Studio in Nashville, Tennessee. It wasn’t long until the band’s record label Virgin Records, got involved in the making of Stuck. After, reviewing the band’s track list and demos the label rejected the release of 2 songs “Undercover You” and “Deserve This”. ...In “The War On Drugs - Holden” the music video starts with an older man waking up on what seems like a normal day. As the video continues the camera focuses on a picture which looks to be a picture of him and a woman while they were younger. Waking up alone, I concluded that he is alone and possibly has been feeling lonely. When the video goes on he goes to a diner where he meets people with friendly expressions (ends up leaving with one). While watching the music you learn that the older man could be possibly be dealing with depression but realizes that you can still find happiness. For example, as he gets a ride back home he finds a polaroid camera in the stranger’s car. Curious on how it works he starts playing with it. Once he gets home he poses in front of the same gazebo that the original picture of the younger woman and him were in. This shows continuity in the video because both pictures connect eventually to the overall theme of the video. Without noticing the beginning scenes you acnt make a connection at the end. Sherlock Jr. is a masterpiece in editing. The level of editing was limited in the 1920s because of all the necessary labor put in to piece together all of the pieces of film from all the scenes and shots.
