All right, Miss Sally, for your circumstance at present, I would suggest you to change a job. Working in super market will lead the problem more seriously.

Hmm, well< shortly pause>, I tried, but…all failed. So what’s the problem on me?

Film Analysis of Before Sunset

...Name Course Professor Date “Time is a Lie” – The Essence of Before Sunset Before Sunset is a spectacular film that tries very hard to restore one’s faith in lost connections. The movie has many interesting aspects to it. Quite a few interesting conversations are struck up by Jesse and Celine. But one aspect of the movie that really struck a chord was the cinematic realism in it. Linklater, the director, takes his time with the shots, letting the camera roll. “Time is fleeting”, as a caveat, has never been better portrayed. The movie plays with time at every turn, and the dialogue-heavy structure gives the character space to unfold. Jesse is trying to buy more and more time with Celine. He first takes her to a coffee shop, then a walk through the Parisian streets, followed by a boat ride down the river and finally some more time in the car ride and her apartment. Though the background changes continuously, the movie is essentially an 80 minute dialogue between the two characters. The fact that Linklater has not fast forwarded time in any of the scenes gives the movie a strong sense of realism. Nothing has been hurried. The characters take their own time to revive their lost connection. Throughout the movie, Linklater has played with time as a concept. As Jesse puts it during his book signing, “Inside every moment is another moment happening simultaneously” (Greco). The one exception to the on-screen realism takes place when Jesse is talking to reporters at the...

...that make up each borough. The five boroughs are Brooklyn, Manhattan, Queens, Bronx, and Staten Island. I did some research on my own neighborhood which is located in the borough of Brooklyn. My neighborhood is Sunset Park. Sunset Park has its own unique history in Brooklyn and is considered one the smaller neighborhoods in Brooklyn. Sometimes Sunset Park is confused with Bay Ridge or Park Slope which are the neighborhoods that surround it. However, it stretches from 15th street to 65th street, from 9th avenue to New York Harbor (which can be considered to some 1st, 2nd and 3rd Ave). It is demographically diverse and has approximately 150,000 people. Sunset Park in my opinion is growing everyday and there are many different changes that happen right before my eyes. Sunset Park was named in 1965 after the 25 acre park built in the 1890‘s which overlooks the entire neighborhood. The park itself consists of playgrounds, a pool, basketball/ handball courts and has a gorgeous view of Manhattan skyline from on top the hill in the park. Sunset Park was known by many as a huge migration area during the 19th century due to the establishment of the Brooklyn waterfront which was a major part of maritime trade. Because of the all the trade that went on in the early years of Sunset Park, it was considered a popular commodity for people who were immigrating from the North in search of a job and a more stable life. Irish, Polish, Finnish, and Norwegian families were some of the first people...

...mountain glazed in snow and had a perfect view of the whole ocean. Blue loved the snow. The only thing she loved more then the snow was her town, Sunset Palm. Her town was small and poor with colors that stood out against the dark blue ocean. As Blue walked through the center of town, her ears were filled by the song of her town and the noise of the people at the stands trying to sell what they could. When she looked at all the stands selling key chains, pots and pans, bracelets, and fresh made chocolates she got excited. Her eyes bounced from stand to stand. She had as much excitement as a three year old in a candy shop. Blue was fifteen years old and had seen all of the shops before, but every time she felt the same excitement. As she walked home, she froze in place when she overheard two older women speaking in muffled voices. Blue could hear the stocky pale women in green cloth with lots of beads in her hair whispered, “Are you sure that Milo will hit in the next week?” After a long pause, the other woman who was tall...

...provides similar services to their residents, such as nursing care and assistance with daily living. However, every other aspect is much different. Rather than providing these services in a large facility with fifty to two hundred beds, a greenhouse nursing facility only provides care to five to ten residents at a time. This allows more personalized, individualized care. These facilities are actual houses, rather than institutionalized buildings. I would love to own one of these houses. I have the healthcare knowledge to own/operate a facility like this. I am passionate about this kind of work, and would like the opportunity to give seniors a better quality of life. This greenhouse, perhaps named Sunset Village, would have fourteen primary employees aside from the management personnel. Sunset Village would need three nurses and three nursing assistants. The organization would need one employee to work in the business/billing office, one onsite beautician, and one director of resident services. Additionally, there would need to be two plant operations employees and three...

...Contents Executive Summary 4 Background 4 Problem Statement 4 Analysis 5 Operational Models 5 Options, Implications and tradeoffs 5 SWOT ANALYSIS CHART 6 Blueprint for Sunset Grill 7 Recommendations and Conclusions 8 Executive Summary The Sunset Grill-at-Blue, an all-breakfast franchise, located in the Village at Blue Mountain, Ontario is currently operated by Bruce Melhuish. Even though the franchise was named Business of the Year in the counties of Simcoe and Grey, the first year of operation resulted in breaking even. Sunset’s service concept is aimed at providing affordable family meals. The restaurant features an open-concept kitchen, which allows Melhuish to oversee the interaction between staff and customers, and the order process, as in the breakfast business the main goal is to get food out quickly as possible. The purpose of this report is to identify the operational problems of the restaurant and provide recommendations based on an analysis of feasible alternatives. Based on the analysis it was discovered that customer demand had been increasing due to the Village at Blue Mountain ski resort experiencing high occupancy rates during the summer and winter. Because Sunset Grill had not forecasted the high demand of customers during weekends, and thus not adjusted the staff, the ordering process was delayed and created queues of up to 25 minutes. By performing an assessment of the restaurant’s operations...

Outsiders Essay

...Outsiders Essay The Outsiders is a novel by S.E Hinton that is set in the 1960’s in a city close to New York. It is about the conflict between the rich people, the upper-class, the west-side kids, called the Socs and the lower class, poorer people, called the Greasers. The conflict between the two social groups occurs because the Socs are too real and too demanding for things. The Greasers are being jumped by the Socs and that creates conflict and hatred between the two groups who aren’t really that different, but Socs see Greasers differently and Greasers see Socs differently too. Pg42 “Things are rough all over.” Things are rough all over for the Socs, as the Greasers see that they seem to not have a worry in the world, they have food, clothes, a home and people to love them. But they have problems that the Greasers haven’t even heard of. There is never real conflict, because when the guys are not there, conflict doesn’t exist. Bob is always doing what he wants and nothing is there to stop him, so that makes the Greasers hate him more and more conflict is created. The jealousy that the Greasers have toward the Socs also results to conflict, because the Socs have money, and the Greasers don’t. The Socs make the track team, Greasers don’t. The Socs go to college and Greasers drop out of school. There are many things that result to conflict between the Socs and the Greasers. Conflict between the Greasers ad Socs happen because of...

...people actually know about it. Islam's main message is about peace, which comes when one fully surrenders to Allah. In fact, that is what the word Islam means. The practices of Islam are all geared toward attaining this peace. When one really looks into the practices of Islam, the practices can seem quite elaborate even on just a daily basis. Muslims pray five times a day, every day. Once just before the sun rises (fajr), noon (dhuhr), afternoon ('asr), sunset (maghrib), and evening ('isha). Muslims pray a prayer called raka'ah during these five times of prayer. This prayer states that Allah is the one, true God. Through the mercy of Allah, we have been given life and through His compassion we have been given a way back to Him in Heaven through the religion and practices of Islam. It also gives a reminder to “...watch out for the steps that you're making in this day.” (Smith, 3) Aside from the daily prayers, the annual practice of Ramadan is observed. Ramadan is a month (of the Islamic lunar calendar) in which people fast from sunrise to sunset. It is fasting not just from food, but bad behaviors and bad thoughts as well. If able, one should make a pilgrimage to Mecca as part of the practices at least once in a lifetime. This is not necessarily part of Ramadan but falls toward the end of Ramadan period. Zakah is another practice in which every year 20% of person's overall wealth is given to the poor to practice charity and compassion...

White sandy beach stretching as far as the eyes can see, lined by the turquoise water in different shades. Your Faith Has Made U Well

...Your Faith Has Made You Well(St Mark 10:52) The New Testament speaks a lot about faith. Jesus commends some who come to Him for healing, saying “your faith has made you well.” When the Roman centurion tells Jesus that He doesn’t need to come to his house in order to heal his servant, Jesus marvels over the man’s faith, “Truly, I say to you, not even in Israel have I found such faith” (Matthew 8:10). In our culture today, we often hear that all kinds of things are possible if we just have faith. It seems that we think of faith as a sort of force we impose on our circumstances or our lives and, if we have enough faith, we will get what we want. Faith is a commodity we need to have a lot of. And the only way to get it is to work it up in myself by sheer willpower. This view of faith is often the one that Christians hold. We are encouraged when we are struggling to just “have more faith”. The so-called prosperity teaching tells us that if we have enough faith, God will bestow blessings upon us. The implication, of course, is that if we are not healed or well provided for, it is our fault because we did not have enough faith. ? When Jesus tells the woman who had been bleeding for 12 years and was healed when she touched the hem of Jesus’ robe that her faith made her well, does He mean that she was healed because she had enough faith? What was the difference in the centurion’s faith compared to others? Was it simply that he had more? Does Jesus work with us according to the amount...

The Wreck of Amtrak’s Sunset Limited

...The Wreck of Amtrak’s Sunset Limited Corporate social responsibility is a corporation's obligation to its stakeholders. Amtrak’s stakeholders include owners, managers, employees, the customers and suppliers, as well as the cities in which Amtrak offers service; however for the purpose of this case study, the stakeholders are Amtrak’s owners, the passengers and CSX Transportation, the owner of the railroad. The interests of the stakeholders do vary, but they also share a common interest; the concern for the train to travel safely to and from the desired destinations without incident and the loss of lives. The owners’ interest leans more towards the financial repercussions should an accident occur, such as the cost of replacing the damaged train and the legal costs that would ensue. The legal impact for all the stakeholders was the lawsuit filed by the victim’s families, which lasted over five years before Amtrak agreed to settle ("Amtrak agrees to," 1998). In addition to the settlement payout, the economic impact for the owners most included the loss of financial investors, while the surviving passengers and the families of those who lost their lives received financial compensation from Amtrak. Although I expect the main concern for Amtrak’s owners to still be profitability, the accident and loss of lives might make them think more about the ethical responsibility they have to their customers. The philanthropic impact is that Amtrak makes charitable contributions to organizations...
