The old watchmaker told Hari to sleep in the park after knowing he was suffering in the terrible room he slept in. Hari felt grateful for the man’s advice; the park was more comfort for Hari comparing to where he used to sleep, he felt satisfied too. Hari kept thinking about his sisters and his whole family and thought how much he missed them. But he got along with the people working with him, also with Jagu Mr Panwallah, the watchmender, asked Hari to work with him and told him he would be earning a little, if he could help for two hours a day. Hari was really happy. After Jagu has permitted Hari to work with Mr. Panwallah for two hours in the afternoon, he started working seriously and with concentration. The watchmender was really satisfied with Hari’s work and seriousness; by observing him as he worked, he knew he’ll be mending watches on his own. Introduction During the time of ancient Egypt's New Kingdom, love songs were recorded and later discovered by excavators. The importances of these songs are that they contradicted the perception which Egyptologists had of the ancient Egyptians. No longer were the ancient Egyptians viewed as being a dull society, focused on death and the afterlife, but rather a society with a love for living through loving love itself (Fowler 1994:xiv). This is represented in the first line which says ‘had we but world enough, and time,’ This immediately gives the reader a sense of urgency as it creates the image of time being limited and constricted. The use of the word ‘if’ suggests that time is imperative in order to be able for love to reach it’s full potential and that there is an absence of time so it is impossible to patiently enjoy love without rushing it. Alternatively, the language used in the first stanza could be seen as making a mockery of the idea of taking love slowly as it is referred to as ‘vegetable love’ that grows slower than empires.
