...Better Understood Social Security? Evidence From a Field Experiment* Jeffrey B. Liebman Erzo F.P. Luttmer September 28, 2010 Abstract This paper presents the results of a field experiment in which a random subsample of older workers was given information about key Social Security provisions, while a control group was not. The experiment was designed to examine whether it is possible to affect individual behavior using a relatively inexpensive informational intervention about the provisions of a public program and to explore what mechanisms underlie the behavior change. We find that our relatively mild intervention (sending an informational brochure and an invitation to a webtutorial) significantly increased labor force participation one year later and that this effect is driven by female subjects. The information intervention increased the perceived returns to working longer, especially among female respondents, which suggests that the behavioral response can be attributed at least in part to updated information about Social Security. Malayao Grade 10 - Diego Mojica St. Dominic College – Basic Education A (Draft) Research Paper submitted to Mr. Poccholo M. Rudio November 4, 2015 CHAPTER 1 INTRODUCTION Introductory paragraphs A school or institution is built to provide learning and good education to students and prepare them for their future. Parents send their children in school to be knowledgeable on everything they see and do and enjoy life while learning. According to Albert Einstein, “Education is not the learning of facts, but the training of the mind to think.” It only means that education shouldn’t focus on teaching facts instead students should be learning while interacting with one another. Educating students is done by many ways, it may be by visual aids that will let the students view a clearer idea on the topic, it may also be by means of technology which is very popular nowadays especially to the present generation. But above all this, there’s this one way of educating students that would never get old, it is interacting students with other people by grouping them to work on a specific matter or task. This process would develop students to become sociable as they grew up and letting them share their opinion and ideas. It would help as well to engage and connect students with their skills and values while learning competently. Researcher reports that students learn best when they are actively involved...

...A chain is just as strong as its weakest link. A group is just as strong as its weakest member. The negative of working in a team outweigh the positives of working in a group. Working alone is better than working in a team because it is easier to manage, also because you won’t need to compromise your own ideas for others. Working alone, rather than in a team allows for easy management of the group. One reason why management is easier is because you have only yourself to manage. You can control what you do, when you do it, and the effort you put in. For example, this removes the constant need to get updated on your group members whilst working on a project. Another reason why working alone is better than working with others is because you are...

...members/shareholders, increasing employee costs, and protests against Calleeta’s offshore facilities due to the growing concern of working conditions. First, board members and investors are not supporting Jan or her proposal due to a poor return on investment. Board members are concerned about the rapid increase of employee cost the company is incurring. Calletta is incurring a 12% cost increase annually compared to an industry average of just 4% (Kavanagh & Thite, 2009). There will continue to be a lack of support if Jan is unable to increase the company’s revenue and return on investment. Another key business issue is board members demanding that Jan seek ways to decrease employee cost before approving any future plans. Employee cost consists of things such as recruiting cost, income, training, and benefits. As a result, Jan is forced to choose between HR Vice-President John Nosmas practices or the board, both who affect her maneuvering power for future plans. John Nosmas defends his practice of paying higher wages along with providing expensive benefit programs because he believes in hiring the best employees. He feels that these practices help with recruitment and retention. Lastly, as CEO Jan is faced with the growing concerns over working conditions in their foreign facilities which are being targeted by activists accusing the company of inhumane working conditions. The key issues discussed are challenges that must be overcome if Jan hopes to become the leader in RFID products...

There are many benefits to working in teams as most corporations are adapting to this method. Team work is even used in professional sports being a successful baseball pitcher can’t be accomplished without the help of a catcher or even an outfield team to help catch fly balls. ...Working rights Charter Nike Sweat shops: Since the 1970s, Nike has been accused of using sweatshops to produce their products. They found cheaper labor in under-developed countries, such as Vietnam, China etc. After workers there asked for higher wages, more rights and other benefits. The factories moved to different locations to continue giving workers the minimum wage and operate at a low cost. Nike denied the criticism throughout the 1990s. In 2001, Nike director Todd McKean quoted in an interview that technically they did ‘not own’ the factories and that they have ‘no control’ of what happens in those factories. These accusations went so far when Nike pulled out of contracts when Activist groups wanted to place a code of conduct. So Nike would monitor their working conditions in factories where the products are made. There are currently many activist groups protesting against Nike. Causing much anger through students, teachers, investors and workers etc. The man behind the committing of ending Nike’s injustice is Jim Keady. Jim Keady was the founder of an activist group called ‘Team Sweat’. It is initially one of the largest groups that protest against Nike. He himself travelled to Indonesia to live among Nike Factory workers. Surviving on just $1.25 per day. The employees were poor people looking for any income. The global alliance for workers and communities showed survey results saying, 70% of the workers in Thailand were satisfied with their supervisors and...
