What are some of the ethical challenges with the movie and music industries as they relate to the internet?
• Privacy o What information is acceptable to be released o What can or cannot be shared

• Property / Licensing o Piracy o Licensing o Peer to peer (Napster)

2.How has education affected copying movies and music?

For the Downloader, it is handy and readily available. It gives you media at your fingertips without the hassle of cost or making a purchase. It’s convenient and in some cases you get the opportunity to listen to an album or view a movie before it is even released. The downfall of it is that not only is it illegal but it is unethical. Your taking away the value for the artist or creator, and cheating yourself with as far as originality.

For the artist or creator the benefits of downloading are the free exposure you get ant the popularity you gain from your media being readily available to world. Some artist even support authorized controlled downloading such as itunes. The unfortunate side of it is the decrease in sales.

3.What collaboration tools have you used in your personal life. How has it benefited you?
Collaboration tools that we can use in school and our daily lives are such things as, google, e-mail, chat rooms, archive libraries, forums and peered reviewed articles.

• The access to information, which makes daily life easier
• Minimum effort maximum efficiency
• Assist with communication in a faster way

What recommendations would you give to further prevent plagiarism?

• Anonymous hotline to report plagiarism
• Provide recommended websites for additional resources outside of UOP library
• Ensure assignment have efficient resources required for completion
• Assess infractions of plagiarism on a case by case basis

5. What are some of the capabilities of Microsoft word?
• WORD COUNT
Microsoft word has the capability that will tell a person how many words, lines, paragraphs, and characters.
• HEADER
A person can make a header that will show on only the first page or on every page and will include the page number. There are also many different types and styles of headers available to use even ones that will only populate on odd or even pages.
• INSERT/CLIP ART
A person can create a graph or insert clip art to improve the document.
• CITATIONS
A person can create and insert citations using a drop down box .
• MAIL MERGE
A person can mail merge which will populate from any source and send out that content to 75 individual people instead of using a mass email.
