Donovan Curtis was a delinquent 8th grader that attended Hardcastle Middle School. He was always in trouble because unlike most people, he didn’t think before doing anything he just did. Which is what caused him to somehow end up in the Academy for gifted students. Donovan he been outside the middle school during the basketball game against his school’s rival when he picked up a branch and whacked the statue standing in front of the building. The globe that had been resting on the statue’s shoulders tipped off a rolled full speed down to the gym where the game was being held.

When the globe reached the gym it tore through the front doors down and could have easily killed someone. Gladly it didn’t but it would cost the school money they didn’t have. Donovan was scared beyond belief, he didn’t mean to hurt anyone but as usual he let his body work before his mind. He tried to flee the scene but the superintendent Dr. Schultz had caught him before he had the chance. Donovan was taken to Dr. Schultz office where he was questioned about the incident, Schultz wrote down his information before letting him go and he told Donovan that his parents were going to be contacted soon about the money that they would’ve owed the school. He had not told his parents about the gym and was planning on keeping it a secret for as long as possible. His sister, Katie was heavily pregnant and her husband was away in war. The call they had gotten was the opposite of what Donovan was expecting. He was going to transfer to the academy for gifted
