As I started my research for this project, I found there are a million-and-one ways to better study and take good notes. Some are actual studies completed by renowned universities and others are merely guides written by persons based off of their personal experience. The first source I selected “Taking Notes: 5 College Success Tips” was posted by Dennis G. Jerz as submitted to him by one his Technical Writing Students Vivinette K. Dietsche. In her paper, Dietsche outlines five basic principles that are beneficial when it comes to taking notes: go to class prepared, improve your listening skills, develop a note taking method that works for you, pay close attention to content and review and edit your notes. Going to class prepared can be as simple as ensuring you have all the supplies i.e., paper, binders and writing instruments necessary to complete assignments. Also covering the course material before showing up to class will give you a better idea what is going on in the day’s lesson plan. Our papers should capture the reader’s attention by explaining our thesis statement and providing adequate explanations that supports our findings. Papers can be formatted and written in various ways; the most common forms of writing are APA and MLA. Some colleges may require MLA style (Modern Language Association); which is used for humanities such as arts, literature, and history. On the other hand, other colleges may require their students to write their papers in APA style. APA means American Psychological Association. It was designed by anthropologist, business managers, and psychologists as a way of arranging the components of writing and reading (Kirszner & Stephen, 2012). It also aims to improve and upgrade the study habits or study skills of the grade 7 students of BNCHS. The researchers made sure that the student is using the advanced technology gadgets to answer the questions correctly and surely. There were 60 respondents, 5 students were only needed in each section. The obtained T-test among the 15 treatments in 1.46, which is lesser than the Tval. If 2.145 at 0.05% level of significance and 2.977 at 0.01% level of significance respectively, df = 1.14. (INCLUDE THE SIGNIFICANCE OF THE STUDY) Hence, the null hypotheses is accepted. Therefore it is safe to conclude that advanced technology or the use of different gadgets really affects the poor study habits of the Grade 7 students of BNCHS. There was once a research done by participants from 44 college students. It turns out that sleep-deprived participants performed significantly worse than the no deprived participants on the cognitive task. However, the sleep-deprived participants rated their concentration and effort higher than the nondeprived participants did (June, Amy 512). This was exactly the same as what students who spend their whole night preparing an exam think. They believe they put more effort compared to students who sleep well before the exam day.
