CAMBA aims to respond to emerging issues and unmet needs in the community by addressing those needs and implementing programs to help individuals. As a result of the homelessness crisis in 1996, CAMBA opened the doors to its first Single Adult Shelter. This shelter is housed in the Park Slope Armory, in Brooklyn. CAMBA has since opened other shelters servicing different adults, with a total of five shelters today.
Their customers include mentally ill clients with substance abuse disorders which are active or in remission. They operate homeless shelter programs that offer clients with safe, supportive drug-free housing facility.
