Earth, a ticking time bomb waiting to explode if nothing changes over the millennium. In a situation involving global warming, global climate change has already had observable effects on the environment. Glaciers have shrunk, ice on rivers and lakes is breaking up earlier, plant and animal ranges have shifted and trees are flowering sooner. The earth maintains a habitable temperature due to the Greenhouse effect, which allows heat from the sun to penetrate our atmosphere, without it, the earth would be a cold and hostile planet, and would most likely be uninhabitable.
