Multistate Health Corporation Market Position Strategy and Planning: MHC had been focused on resent changes they were facing. Shortly after MHC had finished their strategic planning process they decided to focus on technology and to reduce the cost of new technology. The second thing MHC focused on was improving basic healthcare and outpatient services. By focusing on these two things MHC tried to find a way that would allow them to keep serving patients with basic needs and to continue to grow profit for the company. Things took a big turn when the government and regulations and insurance procedure changed. The federal and state made things even harder because they wanted new technology in hospitals and they felt this would reduce cost. New technology can mean several things such as, patients waiting a lot longer than expected, waiting on approvals from insurance companies as well. According to everything that’s taking place, MHC needs to make sure that everything is proactive.
Structure, competitive strategy and adjustments with MHC. The company follows organization structure that works all the way from the regional executive (EVP) to management divided into three teams which are interrelated and report to top as Eastern Region. In this study I’m not really sure what the relationships are. From doing this research I noticed that HR and HRD was spoken about far as functions with MHC. MHC are becoming more competitive because the new technology and other upcoming changes that are taking place. MHC have been experiencing many problems from the beginning since changes were being in place. Competitive strategy needs to be in place in order for the companies new plans to fall in order for MHC to be great. Even though MHC have issues with communication and structure they need to work on becoming one company and make sure that the entire company is on the same page. Documentation is very important and MHC needs to have a paper base for important information or either new technology to have important information stored.
Management implementation for MHC is all over the place. The road MHC is trying to steer towards is learning how to cut cost and save money as much as possible. Most of the employees for this company knows how to operate off the old technology system and are not up to date with current implementations. MHC needs to have training classes for all employees to be current with the new changes this could possibly help with the changes faster and things working out for the best. MHC needs to have more management in the right positions handling things that needs to be done and done the right way. Deficiencies with each employee is that each department should have its own duties on what is expected from each department in order for things to workout properly. No, things are not going to be perfect but each department needs to play more of a role because it’s causing the company to delay many things from updating the system and patient care services. Every employee need to be reminded and trained for each new change within the company.
Strategic planning. If I was the HRD manager and had the info beforehand I would have made sure that the company was prepared for change or had certain plans in order. I would have made sure that each employee would have been properly trained and also made sure that each department was up to date with paper work, budget cuts etc. I would have also made sure that MHC had the right system together and that all regions of the company was working together and on the same page.
