...Dead on Target (Hardy Boys Casefiles, Case 1) by Franklin W. Dixon Edge Of Your Seat Suspence! The Hardy Boys tangle with an international terrorist killer and a secret government agency called the Network. Personal Review: Dead on Target (Hardy Boys Casefiles, Case 1) by Franklin W. Dixon "Dead on Target" was the beginning of a new era for the Hardy Boys. This is the first volume of the new (in 1991) series "The Hardy Boys Casefiles", and it is a more adult and action packed series than the original series. This is never more evident than the first two pages of the book. Whereas the original series (started in 1927 and it is still running today) would have various plots by criminals, nobody ever seemed to get killed or nothing too serious would ever happen, but "Dead on Target" opens with the killing of Joe Hardy's girlfriend (and sister of good friend Chet) Iola Morton. For a series that has been known for its lack of actual murders of any on screen character, this was a shocking and explosive (no pun intended as it was by a bomb that killed Iola) moment. It marked the different direction that the Casefiles would take the reader, as well as the Hardys, on. A car bomb was the cause of death for Iola Morton. Good thing Noah didn't know Spanish or assumed he didn't. And now holding a child that could not be appeased. Noah's wails rang through his ears. He wanted to go crazy. This was a lot harder than he pictured it would be. Especially when he visited Liv and Noah was very quiet and polite. He envisioned a quiet, obedient toddler that would let him do his casefiles in peace. Total opposite. Case files remained untouched. He was quite annoyed. "What gives, little man?" Barba interrogates the boy. Whoops, this isn't court and Noah continues to sniffle and cry. If Benson was here to see that he knows she would have laughed. Jeez. He needed help but his pride was preventing him from doing so. He gritted his teeth. Would he be judged as an awful person who couldn't calm down a child? Would he be mocked relentlessly for it? These thoughts ran through his head. "Forget this," Barba says in an annoyed tone as he forces himself to get out his phone while holding Noah in his other arm. He knew Fin and Rollins were too far to reach but Carisi, he was close. "I guess" Rolling his eyes, reluctantly sends a...
