TITLE: Speech on Three Challenges Young Adults Face
INTRODUCTION
Today, I want to explain some challenges that affect young adults which if left on detected can cause serious harm not even death. Three main challenges I feel that affect young adults health complications, depression, and suicide. In today’s young adults they are serious issues that go undetected to parents faculty and other family members and friends. Many young adults are faced with the pressure of being the top senior, honor student, best older brother and many times most popular with awesome grades. These things can be very difficult to meet and young adults can go to great lengths to make everyone around them happy and not disappoint anyone.

BODY
(One challenge of young adults is health complications.)
Firstly, as we know young adults inherit many conditions because of their parents’ genes, but that is not the only factor. Stress has been known for many years as the “catalyst of diseases”. Stress weakens the body, causes organs to work less or harder, and prevents sleep, inhibiting the body from resting and healing itself. Many times young adults take medications not prescribed in order to assist with their performance and achieve the high expectations they have for themselves and others. Illnesses such as heart disease, high blood pressure, and diabetes are the most commonly stress related. High Blood Pressure, Heart Attacks, High Cholesterol, Poor Blood Circulation, Anxiety, Insomnia, Headaches, Eating Disorders, Asthma, Obesity, and many others including skin diseases are all products of stress.

Secondly, depression is another challenge of young adults face.
Depression is a state of low mood activity that can affect a person's thoughts, behavior, feelings and sense of well-being. Depressed people feel sad, anxious, empty, hopeless, worried, helpless, worthless, guilty, irritable, hurt, and even restless. Depression can be induced by abuse of cerertain medications, and conflicts, lack of performance and overwhelming pressure to over achieve. They may lose interest in activities that once were pleasurable, experience loss of appetite or overeating, have problems concentrating, remembering details, or making decisions, and may contemplate, attempt, or commit suicide . Insomnia, excessive sleeping, fatigue, loss of energy, or aches, pains, or digestive problems are effects of depression. .
Thirdly, another challenge of young adults is suicide. Suicide is the act of deliberately killing yourself which often in young adults comes from the feeling that they have failed themselves and others or will fail themselves and others. So instead of facing the challenge and finding a healthy way to cope. Some young adults give up on life. Although many cases of suicide, are unseen there are many signs of suicide such as: Change in eating and sleeping habits, withdrawal from friends, family, and regular activities, violent or rebellious behavior, drug and alcohol abuse and unusual personal neglect are all signs we need not ignore.
CONCLUSION
We parents, educators and or friends must make sure we assist and teach these young adults how to find ways to unwind and cope with stressful situations. It is important to daily take the time to clear our mind. We must be sure to look for signs of trouble and address those issues with a professional. We must ensure that activities which can help unwind and relieve stress are available at all times. The lines of communication between young adults should be clear and open at all times.
