...What I See As The Biggest Challenges Young Adults Face Today? There is several challenges young adults face in today’s society. As adults we all know how tuff it can be to leave home and be out on our own. You are solely responsible for yourself. Some will go to college and others will go straight into the workforce. No matter what choice we make, as young adults there will be challenges we will face due to choices we make. As a society and/or community we need to ask ourselves what can we do to prepare our children for life without someone taking care of them. Young adults are going to struggle with responsibilities. We need to teach them the difference between wants and needs. For example: Jane has an exam for school tomorrow morning but there is a party tonight. She may want to go to the party however the responsible thing is to stay in this time and study. She is going to need her degree to help her get a good paying job and going to the party is not going to be benefit anything but her social life. Understandably you need a social life but at the same time learning to determine when is the appropriate time to socialize is key. Another struggle young adults have is finances. For many the cost of school, credit cards, car and just living will lead to a major debt. I believe if we show them how to budget wisely it will help them stay out of a financial bind. Having a simple budget plan will help them see where their money needs to go and what they have left to do...

...The Biggest Challenges Young Adults Face Today Dallas Johnson AC1306863 Principles of Public Speaking Assignment 6_06 10/06/2013 Introduction Sincerely Young adults today face numerous problems. To me, unemployment and drug abuse pose the major challenge for young adults today. These problems, in many instances, have negative effects on individual’s lives and compromise their personal development as well as their relationships with other members of the society. More seriously, they can compromise the health of the individual and bring harm and regret. The increasing numbers of divorces, for example, is a testimony to the negative implications of these problems on the individual and the society. Clearly, therefore, there is an urgent need for intervention from all the concerned stakeholders to address this disturbing issue. Discussion Personally, one of the challenges that I perceive facing the young adults is the increasing frequency of drug and alcohol abuse among the young adults. From investigations and personal interviews, I have established that more and more young adults engage in this unbecoming behavior, and the rates are alarming. I have established that many of the young adults admit to taking drugs because of the frustrations and life uncertainties in the contemporary society. It is also disturbing that many of the young adults understand the consequences but pay little attention to the effect of this behavior...

...What I see as the Biggest Challenge Young Adults Face Today Zig Ziglar believes that “sometimes adversity is what you need to face in order to become successful” (Junttila, 2010) but will young people in this 21st century be able to succeed considering the myriad of challenges they face on a daily basis. The problems faced by young people today are more than usual. We’ve heard time and time again that the youth is the future? Is this really true, considering the weight of their problems? They are riddled with obstacles which serve to hamper their future. Three of the biggest challenges young adults face today in my opinion is unemployment, lack of role models and obesity. Persons between the ages of 16-24 face multitude of problems. One can only imagine. Let’s take a closer look at youth unemployment. Unemployment is defined as the situation where an individual is willing and able to work, but for some reason is unable to find work. A study carried out in the United States, stated that young people are nearly three times likely to be unemployed than the rest of the population, this is the largest gap in twenty years. The study also went on to say that the number of people aged 16-24 who are not in full time education or employment has increased a great deal. Over the last quarter it has increased by 8000 youths with 498 000 in that age group without a job (Invincibles, Seeberger & Adair, 2015). There is another study carried out in the Caribbean by the Caribbean Development...

...Challenges Young Adults Face Today Being a young adult today has many difficult stages of life that can be quite challenging, even under the best circumstances. During puberty, young people are invaded by a series of new emotions and feelings. Daily pressures faced by teachers and peers. They are exposed to the heavy influence of television, film, music and the Internet. Hence, a United Nations report defines adolescence as "a period of transition that is often characterized by stress and anxiety." Today, young people looking for a quick solution to their problems, for example in drug addiction, prostitution, euthanasia, bullying, suicide, among others. In this case drugs affect our body, losing their logical thinking , and making the forget all those problems that have been disturbing them. Sometimes they just have influences that affect a person for lack of will and likewise assessed, fall into the same temptation of drugs, both legal and illegal like. There are people who have everything but if they lack love and security they seek this out, or just out of curiosity mind and then create a rollercoaster of a problem. Drug addiction is a touchy subject, because many people go so far as to sell everything they have and leave everything for a single dose of what make them happy, drugs. The only treatment to come out of this is the support from hi/hers family and most of all depending on thee person who is at the moment with this addiction has the willpower to go to rehab...

...The particular groups that are going to be encountered in this reflection are generational poverty, older adults, and women. Complex factors involved in overcoming generational poverty Generational poverty is a serious issue among some of the population. When a student graduates high school impending the thought of college they might run into a multitude of different issues. How to pay for college is a major situation, sometimes families are financially able to send their child to school, but in some occasions not. In this scenario, the young adult must gather on how they are going to live and somehow go to college. Some young adults make rational decisions, and others make devastating financial decisions that put themselves into a severe hardship, leading to generational poverty. The issue of social support plaques quite a few young women and men when they walk out into society without a plan of action. The lack of emotional, tangible, informational, positive and negative support can cause horrible life altering decisions among this class of society (UOP, 2011). By making decisions to go to school, the young adult then leads to issues of poverty due to large loans from schooling and credit challenges from taking on too much-unsecured debt to pay to survive. When this generation, making the decision to go to school can be a lifelong issue, when the young adult makes bad calls on how to financially support themselves it can cause greater issues in later life. The...

...The challenges for providing effective HIV prevention program to young adult are pretty similar for women and children, which we discussed in the last week. But there are some differences. Young adults always refer to teenagers, such as college students. Teenagers have high-infected rate of HIV, 10 times than others. And one of the biggest challenges face to young adults is that many teenagers are lack of knowledge about HIV/AIDS. Take Chinese students as an example, many students do not have sex education during high school. They only know the term “HIV”, but they do not know how it transmits and the ways to prevent it. In fact, this situation happens in many poor and developed countries due to the insufficient education. The second challenge is that young adults or teenagers are tending to have sex more frequently than elder adults because teenagers are in puberty. Puberty is the thing teenagers cannot avoid, and it is part of the live. According to Avert.org, it mentions, “teenager years are the time of great change, your body develops and changes during puberty as you become an adult, and these changes often go hand in hand with lots of emotions” (“Being Young And Positive”). So teenagers need to learn how to manage themselves during puberty, and the way correctly using condoms. The third challenge is financial constrain. Many countries do not have enough finance support to promote the HIV prevention programs because those programs are very expensive and required many resources...
